COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This flavorful dark brown ale has a distinct hazelnut aroma and taste. Slightly sweet caramel and toffee malt notes accentuate the pleasant roasted hazelnut character. This medium-bodied brew finishes smooth with an underlying spiciness from the hops.

Bottle pour. Probably my least favorite Sam Adams beer since they usually have good stuff.

Appearance: Pours with a filtered, brown look. Has a pretty nice creamy head that stays around awhile. Nice. Smell: Simply, all that hazelnut is right up from with some other malty aromas as well. Taste/Feel: Follows the nose, unsurprisingly, but with a bit of caramel in there. This is just a tasty beer. It doesn’t have as much flavor as I’d like, but it’s still appealing. The beer is medium bodied, with medium carbonation as well. A little less carbonation, and I’d like a it a little bit more. Still very refreshing. This is a good beer that could be a VERY good beer. If every sip tasted like the first one, this would be a standout Sam Adams beer. Instead, it’s just a slightly above average offering. A great addition to the Harvest Collection!

Bottle poured a clear reddish brown hue w/ an off-white frothy mostly diminishing head and minor lacing. Medium aroma of dough, caramel, and amaretto. Initial flavor is heavy sweet to a faint bitter finish of short duration. Taste of vanilla flavoring, hazelnut flavoring, almond extract and sweet caramel. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, and a long lasting flavorings in the finish.

Bottle - fair size foamy head, very pretty dark amber color, definite hazelnut aroma and flavor, with some sweet maltiness and mild spice - pretty good overall

On tap at Tyler’s, Apex. Semi-translucent brown pour, modest carbonation and some nice (and appropriate) stickiness. Nose is softly nutty, and has indications of a solid and balanced brown beneath. True to form, it’s not overly sweet and gives a nice impression of roasted nuts from a street vendor, a few of them candied, with a dry and modestly hoppy finish.

10/23/2012 - From notes - Pint pour of hazelnut brownish amber with a two finger off white head. Nose is hazelnut, of course, but also light coffee. Stale water... kinda smooth, no amazing. Flavor is roasted, smooth malt, light coffee notes. More hazelnut, and light sweetness. Light to medium body with mild lacing.

Great aroma of coffee and hazelnut. Pours a translucent brown with just a very thin head. Notes of hazelnut, caramel and some hops on the finish, but doesn't pay off the great nose. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355ml bottle. Dark brown colour but just light enough to see it is filtered, moderate tan head. Aroma is brown sugar and caramel with light hazelnut and roasty undertones. Taste is more roasty and less caramel with some spicy and earthy hops. Body is thick enough to avoid wateriness. Overall, a good brown ale with a very good taste.

This was not the beer for me, mainly because I don’t like coffee, and the flavor of this was that of toffee and spice, giving it that mocha coffee style.

Goes down chocolatey with a toffee aftertaste. Overall a good tasting beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
