This flavorful dark brown ale has a distinct hazelnut aroma and taste. Slightly sweet caramel and toffee malt notes accentuate the pleasant roasted hazelnut character. This medium-bodied brew finishes smooth with an underlying spiciness from the hops.

Pours a clear brown with a small tan head. Smells of toffee, hazelnuts, caramel, grass. Taste is mildly sweet and bitter - note of hazelnuts, malt. A bit of hops bite, but not strongly.

Pours brown with a tan head. Aroma is hazelnut, caramel and a hunt of roast. Taste is sweet with light spiciness. Medium bodied with some stickiness. Goes well with the fall weather.

Pours a deep, transparent brown with a thick, frothy head that stays. Strong, hazelnut aroma. Full but effervescent mouthfeel. Taste is a little heavy on the hazelnut - almost as syrupy as San Adams Chocolate bock in recent years. A little sweet. Not quite as good as the Rogue Hazelnut Brown, but a decent beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

a bit exactly like founder frangelic mountain brown but with but less hazelnut flavoring. Again, good beer, nothing offensive

Just starting to get into nut browns, and this one did not disappoint. Malt is the main character in this one. Nice nutty and smokey flavors shine through. Definitely some dark sweet flavors as well, such as caramel and molasses. Would try this one again if I came across it.

12oz bottle. Dark brown color, clear, not much head. Strong hazelnut & spice aroma. Light/medium body, average carbonation. This might be the "nuttiest" beer I’ve ever had, but surprisingly, it’s not overpowering or unpleasant. Leave it to Sam to figure it out. A nice novelty.

Horrible. My taste buds were insulted. I wanted beer but not this. Try not using "natural" flavors that you think taste like "something" and then enhance it, because this is shit.

Pours brown to dark brown, with a fluffy white head. The aroma is hazel, chocolate, coffee, caramel, and fruity. the flavor is sweet, with chocolate flavors up front finished with hazel in the back. With and aftertaste of both. While the body is a medium to lighter body so its not over bearing and has lots of flavor to complement. I really like this one, Sam Adams did a good job on this one.
