This flavorful dark brown ale has a distinct hazelnut aroma and taste. Slightly sweet caramel and toffee malt notes accentuate the pleasant roasted hazelnut character. This medium-bodied brew finishes smooth with an underlying spiciness from the hops.

Dark brown pour with a thick and creamy off-white head. Aroma is nutty with some caramel. Hazelnut flavor. Thick, oily and with a LOT of caramel. No hint of adjuncts, it tastes clean and natural. This is a fantastic brown ale.

Sweet brown sugar and nuts on the aroma. Dark magenta in color with a very thin foam. Cloudy maple, brown sugar and coffee flavors. Wood and nuts floating about in the back of the palate. There is a sligh spice on the finish. Overall, pleasantly sweet nutty maple and brown sugar overtones with nuts in the back. Well done. Iíd give it a B+ rating.

12 oz bottle from a variety pack. Pours light brown with a long lasting off-white head. Aroma is very nutty, malty with hints of hops. Body is light to medium, slightly crisp. Taste is mostly hazelnuts, toffee balanced by earthy hops. Finish is medium, hazelnutty. Good brew if you like hazelnuts.

Bottle pour. Probably my least favorite Sam Adams beer since they usually have good stuff.

First off thank you beer snobs for rating a Sam Adams products with a decent overall status. This is a great nut brown beer that unfortunately only comes in a seasonal mix pack. Good clean palate with nice hazelnut flavors. Great for fall but would be nice year around.

Pours a crystal clear reddish brown color with foamy off-white head. Aroma of cocoa and caramel malt. Taste is sweet and nutty...liquid Nutella. Can taste the hazelnut flavor with notes of cocoa and caramel malt. Balanced with some mild bitterness. This has good flavor but not a beer Iíd drink everyday.

Samuel Adams Hazel Brown is a very clear, deep reddish brown ale topped with a dense, off white foam that has outstanding retention and lacing. Caramel, toffee and hazelnut are in the first sniff. There is some roastiness and maybe some grass. Soft, dry and medium bodied, it leaves the tongue a little chalky. This is bursting with hazelnut. Itís not huge or overpowering. The flavors all melt very well. Thereís just enough bitterness to avoid seeming sweet at all. This is so smooth and easy. It could be a session ale any time.

12 oz. bottle from seasonal variety pack. Pours a clear dark brown with small light beige head. Aroma is caramel malt and hazelnut. Flavor is lightly sweet with definite hazelnut notes. Creamy mouthfeel with a smooth sweet finish. Probably one of my favorite brown ales and a good fit for the fall season.

12oz bottle. Dark brown color, clear, not much head. Strong hazelnut & spice aroma. Light/medium body, average carbonation. This might be the "nuttiest" beer Iíve ever had, but surprisingly, itís not overpowering or unpleasant. Leave it to Sam to figure it out. A nice novelty.
