COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This flavorful dark brown ale has a distinct hazelnut aroma and taste. Slightly sweet caramel and toffee malt notes accentuate the pleasant roasted hazelnut character. This medium-bodied brew finishes smooth with an underlying spiciness from the hops.

12oz Bottle. The pour was a clear medium brown with an average (1-2 finger) light brown creamy head that reduced down to a medium film and large collar with fair runny lacing. The aroma was most definitely loaded with Hazelnut and also had a toasted caramel malt and a sweet earthy yeast with notes of caramel, toffee and a slight coffee roastiness. The taste was malty, nutty and lightly sweet with a hint of caramel early on, with the finish possessing a mild toffee presence and a roasty coffee ending. The flavor lasted an average time after the swallow with the roasty sweet nutty taste fading ever so slowly into the back ground. Mouthfeel was a step or two below medium in body and quite creamy in texture with a good solid medium carbonation. Overall a fantastic, unique tasting Brown Ale that had all the flavors blending so well that it made this drinking experience simply wonderful. Only thing I wish is that they sold it in six packs year round...

12 oz bottle from a variety pack. Pours light brown with a long lasting off-white head. Aroma is very nutty, malty with hints of hops. Body is light to medium, slightly crisp. Taste is mostly hazelnuts, toffee balanced by earthy hops. Finish is medium, hazelnutty. Good brew if you like hazelnuts.

Alright, part of the seasonal batch purchased at Remke/Biggs - This is a sweet, haxel infused session brew. I like it!

UPDATED: OCT 23, 2013 Bottle in fall variety pack. Poured into glass dark brown with off white head. Aroma of hazelnut, coffee and some toffee. Taste brings out brown sugar sweetness, roasty malts, some vanilla and bitterness. Pretty good actually!

12 oz bottle into a New Belgium goblet. A: Pours a clear chestnut color with surprising carbonation. The head is typical of the style - about one finger high, creamy, and off-white in shading. Retention isnít great, though there is some lacing on the glass. S: Hazelnuts are pretty much the primary note here, perhaps as expected. It isnít quite coffee-esque, but itís close. Caramel, toffee, and a touch of chocolate back up the primarily nutty aroma. Not quite as sweet as other hazelnut browns, and thatís a good thing. T: At first, thereís a touch of toffee flavor from the malts - and then a strong hazelnut quality takes over. Caramel returns in the dry finish. Not as íchemicalí tasting as I expected. M: I like how (relatively) dry this is, because it helps cut down the sweetness. Itís not so dry as to kill the aftertaste, either. On the other hand, itís rather thin and over-carbonated in feel. O: I donít think Iíll ever really love a hazelnut beer. This one, though, is decent. Itís mild and simplistic, but also easy to drink and not annoyingly artificial. I think this one is just right being only 2 beers in a fall 12 pack.

Bottle poured a clear reddish brown hue w/ an off-white frothy mostly diminishing head and minor lacing. Medium aroma of dough, caramel, and amaretto. Initial flavor is heavy sweet to a faint bitter finish of short duration. Taste of vanilla flavoring, hazelnut flavoring, almond extract and sweet caramel. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, and a long lasting flavorings in the finish.

Hazelnut brown beer with a frothy, tan head. Aromas of milk chocolate and caramel. Tastes of caramel, nutty/earthy flavors, some toffee, and hazelnut. Slightly bitter nutty finish. There is even a mild hop bite mixed in with these flavors. Easy to drink, solid beer.
