3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz Bottle. The pour was a clear medium brown with an average (1-2 finger) light brown creamy head that reduced down to a medium film and large collar with fair runny lacing.
The aroma was most definitely loaded with Hazelnut and also had a toasted caramel malt and a sweet earthy yeast with notes of caramel, toffee and a slight coffee roastiness.
The taste was malty, nutty and lightly sweet with a hint of caramel early on, with the finish possessing a mild toffee presence and a roasty coffee ending. The flavor lasted an average time after the swallow with the roasty sweet nutty taste fading ever so slowly into the back ground.
Mouthfeel was a step or two below medium in body and quite creamy in texture with a good solid medium carbonation.
Overall a fantastic, unique tasting Brown Ale that had all the flavors blending so well that it made this drinking experience simply wonderful. Only thing I wish is that they sold it in six packs year round...

Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a light to medium brown color with a big billowy tan head. The head has very nice retention and slowly fades over time as the big bubbles trapped within the head pop. Once the head recedes it leaves a medium level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma is sweet and has an interesting mix of aromas. It is big of a sweet toffee and caramel with notes of some brown sugar sweetness and a lighter roasted smell. With this, there is an almost apple cider sweet smell. The spices and the sugary smells bring this on. Finally there is a lighter nutty aroma in the nose which, when combined with the rest, gives a very sweet and pleasant aroma.
Taste – The taste starts with a smooth roasted malt and sweet and buttery toffee flavor. A nice roasted hazelnut flavor along with some caramel soon meet the tongue and combined with the toffee and roast. These flavors take the taste to the end where they are joined by some lighter spice flavors as well as some earthy hop flavors. While these enter the taste, the hazelnut flavor gets even stronger and leave a pleasant sweeter roasted nut flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the creamier side with the carbonation level being on the lower side of the spectrum. The creamy body is fantastic to the flavor profile with the carbonation level, being on the lower side, allowing all the roasted and nutty flavors to really be sensed by the tongue.
Overall - Very easy drinking and quite tasty. A pleasant drinking brown ale.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
12 oz. bottle poured into sensory glass. Pours a clear, deep reddish brown color with a tan head that stays a while before leaving a fair amount of lacing.
Smell is heavy on hazelnut, sweet malt, toffee, and chocolate.
Taste is of hazelnuts and very well balanced sweet chocolate and toffee with some hop bitterness. In the mouth, smooth, creamy, and medium bodied.
Overall, an excellent brown ale that uses hazelnut as well as any beer I’ve had. Well done.

Surprisingly rich, despite a kind of malaise in the glass. Nutty, amber, dry and reflective of a nice malt, toast experience.

Quite surprised by how tasty this was. Not nutty at all, the sweetness is faint. More than anything else this is creamy. A good beer.

Really flavorful beer. Nice creamy head. You can smell the sweet and nutty ingredients. A really tasty beer. Would rate it as one of my favorites if I could buy and drink a six pack, but because it's a flavored beer I would only have one.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a dark brown body that leaves a half finger white foamy head that lasts for a good minute. Some foamy rings are left in the lace.
The smell had nuts, malts, and light toffee.
The taste took the previously mentioned flavors and added in some light chocolate.
The palate sat about medium on the body with nothing harsh on the tongue. It is very drinkable.
Overall, this is a pretty good beer that I had no problem drinking the rest.

Nice brown ale with nice caramel, hazelnut taste. I have only seen it the winter sample packs which is a shame since I would buy this beer on its own.

Tap. Pours a clear light chestnut brown body under a small wispy off white head. The nose is really sweet and loaded with hazelnut, smells a bit artificial. The flavor is just as sweet as expected, tastes like hazelnut coffee with a light nuttiness and some caramel on the finish. A little too artificial and sweet with not enough body to back up the flavoring. Light bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a too long lingering hazelnut finish. I’ll take a pass on this one if a second go around comes.

12 oz bottle from winter sampler pack. Poured a thin brown into the pint glass, overwhelming aroma of roasted hazelnuts. You better like that taste if your going to try this one. Nice caramel malt smoothness combines with the richness of the hazelnut and makes an enjoyable beer but not a session ale, the flavor becomes cloying and too sweet for having more than one or two.
