Cloudy golden yellow with bubbles and a mostly diminishing white creamy head. Medium body, slightly slick. The hops are present but not hard and up front. Slight citrus toward the end of the drink. Worth trying but wonít be a regular.

Iím a huge hefeweizen fan....and Iím a huge Sam Adams fan. Once again I was pleased with this beer. Poured into a pilsner-style glass...nice hazy golden color, nice white head, citrusy flavor, while still tasting the malt and hops. Clean finish, very refreshing

A bit one-dimensional. Drinkable and refreshing but not much else. Bitter note in the beginning, followed by some acidity.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a pint glass.
The color is a light gold with a foamy white head and some slight lacing.
The smell is a bit grainy, some hop aroma as well as some citrus fruit flavor.
The Taste is bit lemony mixed with some grapefruit. Some hop bitterness mixed together with some slight hints at malt.
This beer has a nice lance of hops and malts. The feel of the beer is quite refreshing and enjoyable.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz. bottle, Best by Sept09. Didnít know hefeweizen was a "classic American craft brewing style." Eh. Poured into a half-liter weizen glass, it shows a big, yellowish head. Bit of haze in the body. Maybe it should be an American wheat; I donít find any weizen esters here. Just a crisp, slightly spicy American wheat smell. Taste on this runs to the watery side. Hops are there, but not very abundant. Slight citrus and sweetness, closer to a fig pudding than banana. Slightly toasted malts around here, nice dry finish, but I canít get past the "off," watery texture, which I donít usually get in a Samís (and Iíve had the LongShot Dunkelweizen, I know they can do estery wheat beer!). From a loose bottle rack at "the Jewelís," Downers Grove. Now just two beers away from a new Best Beer Month Ever!ô

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle. Pours a cloudy, darker orange body with a finger-width, frothy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is mostly wheat and honey with a bit of caramel. A bit buttery with a hint of yeast, banana, citrus, and bubble gum. Flavor is medium sweet wheats, honey, herbal pepper, and a light banana citrus. Finishes with a deeper, but light hop bitterness and dries quickly. Medium aftertaste of bready, peppery bitter fruits. Medium bodied and smooth with a crisp finish. Overall, another balanced, well made BBC offering. Nothing exceptional, but hard to complain.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
12oz bottle. Ranked 3rd out of 4 in my blind Hefe tasting [4th Arbor Bavarian, 2nd Stoudts Heifer-in-Wheat, 1st Victory Sunrise] Pours a glassy dark gold, slightly hazy, tall foamy white head, looks sugary. Aroma of corn? okay sure why not... smells like a macro, fake banana candy, phenolic, estery also, some very light honey-like sweetness, maybe a touch of hops. Flavor is rich and sugary, cloying, banana laffy-taffy, plasticy, a bit dull, some lightly spicy and bittering hops towards the finish. A lemony skunky grassy aftertaste. Dull feeling, odd alcohol, soft abundant carbonation, strange. I correctly identified this one as Sam Adams in my blind tasting.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Dirty yellow with a thin off-white head that leaves just a hint of lace. Aroma of wheat, corn, malt, yeast and light lemon. Taste of heavy wheat and lemon with grains and minor hops. Effervescent body finishes up lemon. I had no expectations for this beer and it lived up to what I thought it would be.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Snagged a bottle when I lived in Iowa of all places. Even though not a characteristic hefeweizen by German (I know itís American - so call it so) standards, I enjoy the lack of overpowering banana for a change.
