COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams Hefeweizen has a traditional spin on a classic American craft brewing style. This crisp, fruity wheat ale is cloudy, because the yeast has not been filtered out. Bavarian Spalt hops give the ale a crisp elegance, that is not bitter and leaves a clean aftertaste. Cheers!

12 oz bottle. Pours a somewhat cloudy glowing orange with a medium size creamy white head. Aroma is fruity and citric with some wheat and just a little bit of hop spiciness though it is pretty reserved. Flavor starts with some citrus and wheat and grain notes, and doesnt get much more. Stays sweet and sugary through the finish with just a tiny bitterness that lingers. Light to medium body and a sharp carbonation. Not a good hefe, too citrusy and sugary.

Cloudy golden color. Aroma is mainly of malts and wheat. Taste is mainly of wheat. This has a smooth aftertaste. Nothing overly impressive here, I just figured that Iíd have one of these before itís officially replaced by their crystal wheat.

12 oz bottle. Never thought Iíd taste skunk in a Sam Adams product, but here it is, just faintly. Wheat and citrus overtones in the flavor. Malty, wheaty aroma. All in all, one of the worst, if not *the* worst Hefes Iíve ever had. Itís not bad, itís very drinkable, just not all that great for the style.

I like it much better than other hefeweizens, but Iím not a hefe fan, so this may not be a good hefeweizen.

Cloudy golden yellow with bubbles and a mostly diminishing white creamy head. Medium body, slightly slick. The hops are present but not hard and up front. Slight citrus toward the end of the drink. Worth trying but wonít be a regular.

Iím a huge hefeweizen fan....and Iím a huge Sam Adams fan. Once again I was pleased with this beer. Poured into a pilsner-style glass...nice hazy golden color, nice white head, citrusy flavor, while still tasting the malt and hops. Clean finish, very refreshing

A bit one-dimensional. Drinkable and refreshing but not much else. Bitter note in the beginning, followed by some acidity.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a pint glass. The color is a light gold with a foamy white head and some slight lacing. The smell is a bit grainy, some hop aroma as well as some citrus fruit flavor. The Taste is bit lemony mixed with some grapefruit. Some hop bitterness mixed together with some slight hints at malt. This beer has a nice lance of hops and malts. The feel of the beer is quite refreshing and enjoyable.

12 oz. bottle, Best by Sept09. Didnít know hefeweizen was a "classic American craft brewing style." Eh. Poured into a half-liter weizen glass, it shows a big, yellowish head. Bit of haze in the body. Maybe it should be an American wheat; I donít find any weizen esters here. Just a crisp, slightly spicy American wheat smell. Taste on this runs to the watery side. Hops are there, but not very abundant. Slight citrus and sweetness, closer to a fig pudding than banana. Slightly toasted malts around here, nice dry finish, but I canít get past the "off," watery texture, which I donít usually get in a Samís (and Iíve had the LongShot Dunkelweizen, I know they can do estery wheat beer!). From a loose bottle rack at "the Jewelís," Downers Grove. Now just two beers away from a new Best Beer Month Ever!ô
