COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams Holiday Porter is a full-flavored porter inspired by the famous drink of London's Victorian era luggage porters. Brewed with generous portions of Caramel, Munich and Chocolate malt, this hearty porter finishes with traditional English Fuggles and East Kent Goldings. Cheers!

Dark brown with gold highlights. Big head, not much lacing. Sweat Bready nose. Bread, yeast, with a bit of roast in the taste.

Nice chocolate and malt aroma. This beer has a nice dark color and very little head. The taste is roasty, malty, and chocolate. This beer seems to be missing something. The finish is average and bitter.

Dark dark pour, little head, but what was there was a chocolatey brown. Not much aroma at all. Pretty well balanced with some heavy spices sneaking in at the end. Has the overall impression after the sip as a bit acidic and coffee like roast. Not bad but not exciting.

Dark brown pour with foamy tan dark tan head. Aroma of light roasted malt with hints of chocolate and some pine. Taste is roasted malt with some of the expected chocolate and coffee notes. Somewhat dry on the finish with a slight lingering bitterness and some alcohol notes as it warms up. Not quite as much flavor as I’d like in a porter - easy drinking, but nothing special about this one.

12oz. bottle from a seasonal sampler pack. Average porter, aroma of chocolate and caramel. Lots of chocolate and malt in the taste, but nothing overpowering and easy to drink. Doesn’t really stand out amongst other porters but it’s worth a drink. 10/20

Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma is light of some chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts. Not very strong on the flavor. Chocolate malts and coffee dominate with a watery finish. Disappointing.

12 oz. bottle. Pours black with red hints. The aroma is roasted malts, earth, and pine. The flavor is sweet up front, with significant bitterness through the middle and finish. The palate is medium, sticky and astringent. Overall, this beer is fair, with an unpleasant aftertaste.

Pours a dark brown with thick frothy off-white head. Chocolate, sweet aroma. Tastes of caramel and molasses. Hint of chocolate. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, pretty enjoyable on a cold winter day.
