Samuel Adams Holiday Porter is a full-flavored porter inspired by the famous drink of Londonís Victorian era luggage porters. Brewed with generous portions of Caramel, Munich and Chocolate malt, this hearty porter finishes with traditional English Fuggles and East Kent Goldings. Cheers!

Beautiful beer. Dark semi translucent red/black color. thin diminishing head. Smell is malty sweet with hints of chocolate. Taste is sweet toffee chocolate mix, with a creamy mouth feel. Finish with slight hop taste, but not very much. I loved this beer.

A very dark poor. Nearly black with a slight tint of red and a nice brown head. A chocolate and darkly fruity smell. There is a roasted taste to the drink and a smooth feel of the liquid, something like a buttery pudding. Very drinkable for one but a bit rich for additional glasses.

Dark brown pour, with almost no head. Chocolate, sweet aroma. Malty, bitterness, and light chocolate. A slight disappointment.

Poured with huge rocky brown head that was mostly lasting with nice lacing. Body is a very dark cola color that I canít see through. Nose is of cinnamon, vanilla, malt, and brown sugar. Initial flavor is coffee and caramel taste. Finish is dry and bitter, with some nice spicy notes coming through later on in the finish. The flavor is nice, just not much complexity going on here. This is drinkable, but I would like a little more to this. Thereís just not enough there. I like a lot of Sam Adamís seasonal offerings, but this one just doesnít do it for me. Itís not bad, just was expecting a little more. *Edit* I had to go back and re-rate. I think I had this beer too cold. The flavor started to come out more as it warmed.

Boottle. A rich taste with some sweetness and hints of choclate and coffe. A lot of taste especially considering it is "only" 5,8%. A really good beer if you like porter.

A solid no nonsense porter. Surprisingly dark, good roasty flavor with something else I cant quite figure out.

Malty with hoppy afternotes. Noticiable hints of spice along with burnt coffee and chocolate.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a very dark amber (almost black), with a thin, tan head. Full-bodied, creamy, with light carbonation. Tastes of burnt malt and unsweetened chocolate. Finish is long with just the right amount of bitterness. An all-around tasty brew.

Pours a dark brown with thick frothy off-white head. Chocolate, sweet aroma. Tastes of caramel and molasses. Hint of chocolate. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, pretty enjoyable on a cold winter day.

Pours an opaque black with a thick tan head that leaves lacing on the glass. Aroma is sweet and malty, and almost sherry-like. Flavor is not typical for a porter. There are some subtle roast flavors, but in general, this beer tastes more like a generic Sam Adams beer.: grainy, hoppy, and malty. Some coffee-like acidity in the aftertaste. Hops are a little too present; body is a bit too thin. I get the impression that Sam Adams brewed this porter for people who fear dark, complex beers. Mediocre, IMHO.
