Samuel Adams Holiday Porter is a very dark and dim red-brown ale with a frothy, splotchy, light brown head with excellent retention and lacing. It has a roasty chocolate and coffee aroma. In the mouth, it’s a fluffy, medium bodied beer with a dry finish. It has a simple, balanced, roasty flavor. I love beers like this.

I’m pleading to the folks in Boston to make this one a year rounder. After all there are holidays like Memorial Day, 4th of July, and the list could go on and on. In other words we have holidays year round so why not the holiday porter year round. Nice roasted malt flavor with a hint of hops in the finish.

Pours a dark black with a tan head that dissapates quickly leaving only a thin layer. Has a strong caramel and malty aroma. Very strong palate with a flavor of chocolate malt. I was very impressed with this beer. Nice lacing on the glass

aroma, was malty robust toffee odor, color, dark amber beige head, taste was deep roasted malts, chocolate notes, on the backend the hops come on the tongue, overall, I like this Porter, its very filling, and only comes out in the Winter classics, wish was year round!

Had it on thanksgiving I believe. As I don’t really eat any thanksgiving food, i spent most of time with the holiday variety pack of sam adams and enjoyed my day. This one was the best beer of there and the best Sam Adams actually that I have tried. Just pure chocolate malty goodness I wish they made this available year round

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2007 a very rich assortment of chocolate, caramel and orange. Dark and malty with a great hop finish, a must have for Christmas

Beautiful black porter with a ceamy dense head. Not much hop nose, but plenty of bitter flavor that balances out the malts nicely. Very good beer, but more on the "stout" side of porter.

Nearly black, 3 fingers of thick, solid tan foam, fades quickly leaving nice trail of lace. Aromas of caramel, graham crackers and malt. Flavor was nicely toasted malt, bitter chocolate, strong coffee, herbal bitter hops, caramel and dark fruit. Nice texture -- neither watery nor engine-oil thick. Not overcarbonated. Quite tasty, leaning toward the stout end of the porters
