sinkr (129), Lusby, Maryland, USA Dec 12, 2007 Pours dark with a very thick light tan head that exhibits Guinness-like micro bubble sheeting for just a brief time. Very light aroma that my nose just couldn’t discern (which ain’t saying much), flavor is coffee-ish, perhaps a hint of chocolate with not much mouthfeel or aftertaste, yet the beverage as a whole is quite pleasing.
NomDeBeer (129), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 11, 2008 Thinner and more watery than I expected but it’s still pretty good. Sweet malt flavors of mocha and caramel. Very drinkable. timsilvia32 (183), born in Michigan, North Carolina, USA Aug 4, 2008 Poured black, brown head. Rich malt and mocha aroma. Tasted of the same, roasted malts cocoa, a nice amount of carbonation. Could be a little heavier bodied, but good for a large brewer. My favorite of the Sam’s specials. RichardGretton (2603), Leicestershire, England Aug 3, 2008 Bottle@Beers of the World Live (NEC), 2008. Black beer with a brownish tinge and a strong brown head. The aroma is roasted ,and the flavour is rich and roasted. Overall a nice roasted dark beer. gameface23 (77), Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA Jul 25, 2008 Malty nose with a well balanced taste of malt, coffee, and chocolate. Lighter body than I am used to for a dark beer, but enjoyable. azlondon (480), Greater London, England Jul 1, 2008 Appearance: Dark brown, not much head.
