Bottle. Near black color, with a thick tan head. Buttery aroma, chocolate and smoke. More of the same in the body, thick and creamy, sweet with cocoa in the finish. Similar to the black lager, but sweeter. Pretty solid all around.

Sep 3, 2008 Poured a really dark brown color with an off white head. Aroma was pretty weak but was mainly of chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor was also pretty wayerty. Nothing stands out, but nothing bad here. ok - sub par porter.

Aug 29, 2008 Updated: Sep 1, 2008Bottle 12oz 08’. Pours black and has a nice roasty smell. Flavor balance lacks complexity and the body is lighter than I would like. Decent brew.

Aug 11, 2008 Thinner and more watery than I expected but it’s still pretty good. Sweet malt flavors of mocha and caramel. Very drinkable.

Aug 4, 2008 Poured black, brown head. Rich malt and mocha aroma. Tasted of the same, roasted malts cocoa, a nice amount of carbonation. Could be a little heavier bodied, but good for a large brewer. My favorite of the Sam’s specials.
