BeerBlockaid (462), West Palm Biatch, Florida, USA Sep 22, 2007 Pours cherry coca cola, with a bit of translucency. porter taste with espresso and hops, but tame and a bit watered down. Some mocha areas, nice lacing and head. Some chocolate but the "honey" is just general brown sugar. The chew has more of a regular brew and hops. After taste is dry and slighty dark bakers chocolate. This is a porter I would enjoy out and about as I don’t feel the straight need to brush my teeth before chatting up the local clientèle . Damn Zelma Hayek is hot.
RollinHard (507), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Jul 22, 2008 Pours brown with a light tan head. Aroma is faint for me, mostly a light roast aspect, light coffee, and pumperknickel, slight lactose element. Tastes of chocolate, coffee, then starts to feel astringent followed by a hint of honey. Finishes with coffee roast, toast, wood, and a pleasant lingering bitterness. There’s more going on in the finish of this beer than anywhere else, and the aftertaste is also really nice. The rest is just kinda meh though. Light bodied, drinkable. mdm46410 (517), Griffith, Indiana, USA Jul 22, 2008 Poured from a 12oz bottle and served in a Guinness pint glass. This beer poured brown with loads of ruby highlights and a two-finger thick head of creamy tan foam. Good retention and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma of the beer was made up of faint chocolate and vanilla, caramel, and some hints of honey. The flavor consisted of light roast, caramel, faint sweet honey, and finished up with a light hop bite. The mouthfeel was watery thin and moderately carbonated. With a flavor bodering on bland and a look and palate more akin to a brown ale, this porter was average at best. shanepardue (65), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Jul 20, 2008 Not as bad as some other Sam Adams, but still a little off. Pours dark brown with a cream-colored head. Slight honey flavor with a weak molasses taste. arventresca (127), Greenville, North Carolina, USA Jul 14, 2008 Bottle. Black with a reddish hue. Smell of sweet hops. You can taste a hint of honey in the roasted malt flavoring. I actually like this one the best of all the Sam Adams specialty beer. gkao007 (17), Jersey City, New Jersey, USA Jul 14, 2008 You can get a hint of the honey when you stick your nose in the beer... But I wasn’t overly satisfied with the product. Perhaps i’m just not a fan of Honey with a Porter. Nothing extraordinary here for me.
