COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied English-style Porter, this brew has a substantial roasted malt character. Brewed with traditional English Ale hops and sweetened with Scottish heather honey. The honey balances the spiciness from the hops and the roasted malt character. The beer is finished by dry hopping with English Goldings.

Aroma: dark, roasted malt, slightly of orangy honey, fresh American hops, vaguely of vanilla. There’s something very interesting going on here – there’s a citrusy scent that adds a fiery quality. Not bad at all. Knäckebröd.
Flavour: nice, very rustic, rye bread with burnt flour on. Nice, subtle honey sweetness goes hand in hand with the warm malts. The floral qualites are more evident in the aftertaste which also shows a more sophisticated side, slightly reminiscent of a grassy islay or speyside single malt.
Appearance: very dark reddish brown with the typical beige head
Palate: nice, reminiscent of a bock and… well… American porter. Medium fizzy, only slightly creamy. Quite nice.

Pours a nice darker color with white head. Honey on the nose, sweetness, malt, and some roasted character; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a honey sweetness.

Beautiful rocky head with plentiful lace on the glass. Wow, the honey smell is quite strong. I was expecting it to be far more subtle. Needless to say, it is sweet. There is nearly none of the typical porter smells. The taste is completely different from the smell--lots of cocoa, little honey or sweetness. Enough hop to create a bitter finish with chocolate in the background. Very complex. Good body and carbonation. I like this beer although I find the smell to be a bit deceiving from what you ultimately drink.

A little too sweet for a porter for my liking..should be drier, but the honey aroma and taste were different.

Not a very good porter. The honey gives the beer a strange mouthfeel and an overly sweet character.

Smak och doft av malt, humle, honung. Rostad och brödig känsla. Rund och len. Lagom söt med trevlig beska.

Bottle. Pours reddish-brown with a medium beige head. Aroma of hard roasted malts and honey. Flavor of dark malts, honey, caramel and a hint of grass. Similar lightly bitter finish.

Det här är en bra öl med en hyfsad kropp och lite spretig smak, smaken i sig bär inslag av choklad, rostade toner och russin. Slutsats: jag gillade den här, mer än jag hade väntat mig.

Bottle. Clear deep red brown with a beige head. Hard roasted malt aroma with sweet notes of honey. Some bread. Taste is medium sweet with lightly burned malts and light fruity notes. Very discreet hoppy whiff. Lightly roasted malty bitter finish.

(33 cl bottle; BBD: May 2011 - bought it three days before rating at the supermarket "SuperBrugsen Nørrevold") This seemed like the perfect beer to taste on the eve of the DNC acceptance speech. Little did I know. Pours dark brown with little off-white head that fades quickly and leaves some lace. Big chunky floatie in my glass and the honey seems to have separated to form little oily beads at the Gulf of Mexico in the bottom of my glass. Initial aroma a pleasant burst of honey and roasted malt. The harmonic blend doesn’t seem to have staying power though and after the initial honeymoon cardboard and rotten fruit come to the front. Watery texture, soft carbonation, lingering roasted bitter finish with a metallic note. Taste is initally metallic followed by a watery roastedness. Frankly I’m disgusted that SuperBrugsen would sell me beer that old. Girlfriend says: "Tastes a bit like tea. A very herbal taste that stays on the tongue."
