tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA Mar 16, 2008 A decent porter. A good amount of smoke. A little sweet, though the name Honey Porter implied more. Didn’t feel that spicy.
waolsen (995), Littleton, Colorado, USA Oct 8, 2008 bottle. maple pour with thin tan head. I got smokey roasted malts, light funk, hint of molasses in aroma. rich and full bodied. light smoke, big roasted burnt malitness with just a little coffee and chocolate. Honey is very faint. tilldeath (27), Arvada, Colorado, USA Oct 7, 2008 Bought in 6 pack because I couldn’t find it anywhere else in a single. Pours dark but not so dark in the light. To bold of a porter to work with my expectations, faint honey, with burnt malts, hops add a nice finishing bite with mild bitterness. Not bad but only once in a while. MaltDawg (369), Richmond, Virginia, USA Oct 6, 2008 12 oz bottle from mix pack. Caramel with some roastyness and slight chocolate aroma. Clear deep amber brown with small fine white head. Roasted malt with some honey and caramel, and touch of chocolate. Subdued hop notes. Touch metallic. Medium light body with fairly dry chocolate finish and touch of hop bitterness. illidurit (431), Santa Cruz, California, USA Oct 5, 2008 12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Dark auburn with ruby hues. Thick tan head, 2 fingers tall, great retention and lots of creamy lacing. Aromas of chocolate, brown sugar, and honey burst forth, with only a little roastiness. Flavor is roasty throughout with honey undertones and a dry finish. Body is rather thin, and that’s the only real flaw here. Carbonation is good and drinkability is excellent. Almost a great porter.
ekstedt (1953), Göteborg, Sweden Oct 3, 2008 Bottle (36 cl) from Systembolaget. Deep copper with a creamy beige head. Roasted aroma with a strange and stale honey aroma. Well balanced with a dry finish.
