COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams Double Bock is brewed with a half pound of malt in each bottle, almost enough for a loaf of bread. This rich intense, lager reveals a deep mahogany color and velvety smooth flavor. Samuel Adams Double Bock is one of our most sought after brews. Enjoy!

Had from 12oz bottle. Pours dark brown with slight tan head and good lacing. Aroma is heavy smoked malts, some coffee, and alcohol. Taste is alcohol, lots of malts, and a nice hop bite at the finish. A bit disappointing, had expected something a bit more complex and less medicinal.

Pours light brown with a tanned head. Some floral hops, nutty malts, some lighter caramel character. Smooth body. Don’t think I have tried this type before. I like this one.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2012 Pours a copper color with a small off white head. Looks very attractive, should win an award on its look alone. Mild aroma of citrus and nuttiness. Taste is VERY rich, VERY thick. Almost feels like drinking syrup. Nutty flavor, malty, citrus flavors. You can tell it’s a great brew for its style but this style may not quite be my thing. Good beer though.

Appearance was yummy clear root beerish with a 1 finger head that falls flat fast with no lacing. Aroma was sweet caramely chocolatly malts with hints of floral hops.Taste was sweet with touches of choco, caramel and raisians and warmth of alcohol. Mouthfeel was full smooth body with light carbonation and slight touches of alcohol. A good winter warmer...

Mörkt brun med stråk av rött. beige skumm som försvinner fort. Doft av torkad frukt och kryddor. Smaken är mycket söt av malt och alkohol. Känns obalanserad.

Deep brown with off white head that disappears quickly. Aroma is sweet malt and dark grapes/raisins. Taste is malty and alcoholic, with full body to the point of being oily. Warm alcohol palate and warmth in the body make this a good winter warmer, but a bit heavy for my taste.

Nose is metallic. not pleasing to me. orange brown with some red tint. Not as dark as I would expect. Lots of fine carbonation. Nicely balanced flavors. substantial feel in the mouth, somewhat thick.

Bought a four-pack of this at a new bottle shop in Northampton, MA. Malty aroma with an after-whiff of alcohol. Nice reddish brown color with a nice head that wasn’t too big, nor small. Effervescent but with a high viscosity as it swiftly rolled about the tongue. Big malt taste that layered on the tongue. A minute or two the warmth spread about the body like the beer was hugging me back. Nice.

Bottle. Pours cloudy brown with very little head. Smells of roasted malt and booze. Taste is lightly bitter with a bit of alcohol in this finish. This guy was not a winner for me..
