dmruth (16), Portland, Oregon, USA Feb 12, 2008 12 oz 2007 batch. Pours cloudy with an orange hue. The beer as a floral aroma with a noticeable alcohol smell. The flavor is quite hoppy with a hint of herbs and citrus. The beer as a substantial feel on the palate that is pleasant. A very nice and balanced beer.
NomDeBeer (33), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 4, 2008 Why doesn’t Sam Adams make more beers like this? Definitely their best offering that I’ve ever had. Incredible hop aroma, flavor, and bite. Earthy notes of grass and hay but just enough malt sweetness, body, and alcohol to back it up. Odd-looking hazy, orange-ish color. mjs (458), Finland Jul 31, 2008 (Bottle at Salhojankadun Pub on 2008-07-26) Pale amber. Hazy. Big bubbly lightly tan head. Hops and alcohol in nose. Full-bodied dryish palate with some alcohol, quite little carbonation. Hops, resin, alcohol and salty liquorice. Long-lasting taste. The bitterness isn’t too overwhelming. Very strong-bodied. Impressive pils. Jwasciuk (181), Greenville, Michigan, USA Jul 28, 2008 Updated: Jul 31, 2008pours murkey medium orange with a creamy white head. Aroma is complex, moderatly malty of mostly hay, heavily hoppy of herbs, flowers, pine and lemons moderatly yeasty of leather and apples. Flavor starts well balanced heavily sweet and bitter, just bold but balanced nice hop profile finishes almost earthy and dry yte clean. Medium to full bodied, creamy and livley jkwalking05 (171), Arlington, Texas, USA Jul 26, 2008 Golden yellow and hazy. Can you say some hops?
