Samuel Adams Double Bock is brewed with a half pound of malt in each bottle, almost enough for a loaf of bread. This rich intense, lager reveals a deep mahogany color and velvety smooth flavor. Samuel Adams Double Bock is one of our most sought after brews. Enjoy!

(bottle - 12 oz) Clear copper color with a fizzy off-white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with hints of caramel and toffee. Flavor is very strong at the start with tons of malts and raisins. Alcohol is very present along with a lot of sugar, caramel, and a light hop touch. Some vanilla near the end, but tons of alcohol.

12 oz single from Archer Liquors. This really isn’t that bad, I probably woll pass on it next time but this had some good qualities. oured a dark copper clear copper color. nice big tan head. Caramel malts and nut aroma. Taste is heavy malts, caramel, toffee, a bit of chocolate, and alcohol. Finishes with a bit warming sensation and a malt aftertaste, not bad.

Changing this offering from one of their seasonal to their new Imperial label has been more than just a re-hash of an old brew. Strong caramel and fruity nose, rapidly thinning head will leave a nice lace eventually after joyfully lingering over this complex brew. Increase in ABV is readily noticeable.

The only things I found different between this and the seasonal version were the price $2.75 per bottle vs $1.50. The ABV 9.5 vs 7.5. Aroma very similar. Taste-the imperial is cleaner version with the added ABV not in your face. Not sure how this will age or if it will. Decide for yourself if $11 a 4 pack is worth it.

Pours mahogany with a fizzy tan head. Aroma is of caramel, chocolate, and dark fruit. Taste is of Nyquil, fruit, malt, and chocolate. What the hell is wrong with this beer? It tastes like horrid cough syrup and cheap malt. It pours nice and smells nice, but it tastes awful. Ok, after several sips, the horrid Nyquil taste settled. Though it never fully went away. Small notions of malt, chocolate, and caramel. Mouthfeel is extremely light and very gritty. They slapped in a ton of alcohol and slapped on a bigger price tag. Just plain poor.

Dark cherry red/brown. Roasted malt with a hint of funk. Flavor of abv, rich sweet malt and a not much bitter. Thin and pretty hot at 8.8. Not a bad beer though.

Caramel, toffee, other fruit on the nose. The aroma is not as strong as i would have expected. Appearance is an attractive red/mohagany color, modest off white head. Flavor is candy sugar, toffee, grapes, alcohol. The finish is sweet, with a good amount of alcohol, providing a slight warming. Medium mouthfeel, not very thick for a dopplebock. I don’t think I liked this one as much as the regular SA Double Bock, one of my favorites from Sam Adams. This beer is enjoyable enough though.

Thanks to Butters for sharing this one at his Februmergency Tasting. Pours clear medium brown with virtually no head. Malty candy aroma. The flavor follows the aroma closely.

Guess i’ll have to settle for sloppy seconds on this one... Many thanks to sixfootsix. Pours a translucent brown with semi-reddish highlights and wispy tan head. Nose definitely has some alcohol heat on it, along with oak, plum and other dark fruits. Flavor is mainly caramel and toffee malts with rum soaked fruits. Mellow semi-boozy finish leaves a nice warming sensation.

Awesome...I get the cherry on this one Butters! Thanks again to sixfootsix for hooking us up. 12oz bottle. Pours a light tan head with some lace and a dark amber body. Smells of white grape and fig. Tastes like fig, caramel, and yeast. The finish is sweet with some alcohol and a very faint bitterness. I like this one.
