COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our take on the stout brewed by 18th century English brewers for the Russian Imperial Court of Catherine II. The special malted barley in this intense and massive brew delivers rich flavors like dark chocolate, coffee and anise.

Bottle, 355ml - Opaque dark brown beer with a light brown head. Aroma is malty with notes of caramel, coffee, licorice, nuts and burnt toast. Flavor is salty with notes of licorice, chocolate, caramel, burnt sugar and alcohol. Warming but not very inspiring imperial stout.

Lots of leather, burnt and coffe and some sour aromas. The appearance is relly dark and opaque. The taste is intense in coffee and has notes of smoke, wood, burnt and leather. The taste and especially the finish quite much reassembles a good scotch most closely to the islay variety. It has a full body, creamy texture and a soft carbonation which goes very well with the style. The finish is nice, long and leathery. A really nice imperial stout, and if you love a good scotch you’ll love this stout.

Smak och doft av choklad, kaffe, karamell, sirap med toner av laktris (anis) vanilj och tobak. Väldigt söt, krämig, tjock och len med en lätt beska med smak av bitter choklad.

Tried to enjoy this one but it just wasnt happening. tried three 12oz mixed with a yeti and rasputin to give it the benefit of a drunken palate but it just does not hold up. Begins cold as tobbacco flavor but as warmth sets into the beer taste is close to bottled beef jerky Drinkable? yes, enjoyable? slightly. Not the worst but not near the top tier.

Not bad. Dark color low carbonation. Cocoa aroma with slight ground coffee notes. Tastes of chocolate and French roast coffee. Not too much heat, but it’s there. For the price not too bad but not up there with old raspy.

I am not a stout drinker. Just a matter of personal preference. Well that is changing as of tonigh. I found a couple of bottles in our collection/stash my wife must have picked up at some time and I tried a bottle w/o even knowing I was chilling a stout until I poured it. What a great rich taste without being heavy or over powering as the few other stouts I tried in my life. The cocoa taste is excellent. Guess what, I will know be a stout drinker with this as my staple mixed in with my IPA's etc. Try this beer my friends it is really good! I am hunting for some more tomorrow. Me! A stout who would have figured! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
