COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sam Adams Imperial White pushes the boundaries of a witbier. While the brew delivers orange and coriander notes typical of a witbier, it has a bigger mouthfeel and body. It is truly a unique brew.

12oz bottle. Thin off-white head. Mostly clear amber color. Smooth lighter carbonation. Dry finish. Some lace. Little particles in the body. Hefe-like aromas - (ripe) banana, clove. This is what I imagine a double hefe might be like, really, not a double wit, but it’s good. Citrus is light, hardly detectable. Nice sweet spicy lightly tangy bigger malt body. Some bitter taste, alcohol is noticeable but not intrusive. Nuttiness - very much like a banana bread, a flavor that lasts long into the aftertaste. Tasty sipper.

Tastes like butter... But at least it’s strong! Frothy with the appearance of a light beer. Some if my friends liked it, but..... it tastes like butter.

Bottle. Pours an orange-amber color with a fairly small head. Has the notes of that yeast in Belgians that give it that sweeter flavor I don’t particularly care for. I get a little hint of the coriander they mention, but I’m not a huge fan of this brew.

Tasty beer...dont fault sam for trying to run with a good idea but it annoyed me that i thought i was tasting at least a new blend, but the imperial series white is the same as the one of a different label found with beers like dark depths. So if you didnt like one dont waste your money on the other.

12oz bottle poured into glass. Light brown amber color with very little head. Aroma has hints of sweet malt, dried fruits such as figs. Flavor is a tad spicy but overall just a little too sweet for my liking.

I thought this was a really tasty beer. Poured a deep hazy/amber into the glass with lots of malt, orange peel, coriander, and spice on the nose. Taste is big wheat, yeast, and spice. Touch of alcohol on the finish but I didn’t think it was overpowering, certainly doesn’t taste like its 10.3% Interesting brew.

Hazy honey gold pour, very little head. Not very wit-like. The aroma is overwhelming sweet malt with caramelized orange and a distant anise. Full bodied, very sweet, hot alcohol, flavors of orange, cooked apple, red grapes, some spice on the finish. Lacks the expected creamy middle and crisp finish, in fact, almost no wit characteristics at all. Tastes like a poorly done home brewed dubbel. Weak.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Tulip. Aroma has malt notes with an apple tinge. Decent clarity and no lacing. Apple flavors intially followed by spices that almost cover up the alcohol notes.

From a 12 ounce bottle into a Spiegelau tulip. A: Pours a nice dark golden color body with some head that disappers quickly. S: Strong sweet notes with some citrus notes alsocoming through. T: Bold up front with very sweet flavors and strong banana taste. The spicenss is hidden behind the bold sweetness. M: Thick bodied and minimal carbonation. O: A little too sweet and boozy. Serving type: bottle

malty apple juice aroma. light amber in color with a nice head. very strong alcohol flavor overwhelms the rich malt flavor
