COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sam Adams Imperial White pushes the boundaries of a witbier. While the brew delivers orange and coriander notes typical of a witbier, it has a bigger mouthfeel and body. It is truly a unique brew.

Interesting but kinda weird and a bit unbalanced. Fruity and full-bodied with strong bubble gum notes in both aroma and flavor, but it quickly turns medicinal towards the finish. I appreciate the abv, but not the overuse of spices.

12 oz bottle purchased from Frugal MacDoogal’s in Nashville. Poured a cloudy amber color with a one finger off white head. The aroma was excellent. Coriander, bananas, citrus and some other spices were present, along with a wheat note. The flavor was typical Belgian White, with a warming alcohol finish, and a heavier palate. This was a solid brew.

Bottle. Pours out a cloudy color with a white head on it. Smell is full of banana, like, overwhelming almost. Some other fruits are noticed too. Taste is sweet, and has alot of alcohol in it which subsides pretty quickly. Fruity banana flavors actually give it a good taste. I like this one. Based on the ratings it seems to be a love or hate beer.

I found this to be a bit sloppy and thick. No, I don’t find all these subtle flavors that others seem to taste. To me, it’s a murky sweet syrup of a beer. Greatly preferred the job they did with the Hallertauer Pilsner.

Pours a cloudy orangeish brown with a small off white head. Aroma is spices, coriander, wheat, bananas, malt. Flavor is coriander, malt sweetness, spices, banana, cloves, a little alcohol burn. Nice warming fruity banana wheat finish. I liked this one.

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2013 12oz from Sam’s, Durham. Cloudy dark orange pour, with less of a head than I was expecting. Nose is pleasantly pungent, a mix of intense yeast and ripe fruits. Mouthfeel is fairly thick, which is nice, and the flavors don’t wash out too quickly, as is often the case with this style (in both its regular and its imperial variety). Not much spice to me, but a nicely warming and pleasantly fruity rendition.

12oz bottle, sample out of a plastic cup at work. Pours a semi hazy golden orange. Aromas of sweet malt, spice, coriander, light tropical fruits(pear, tangerine). Flavors bring a sweet fruity entry with more tropical fruits, pear, citrus, and some light hops. Finish is spicy and light hops.

Pour is a cloudy orange with a large white head. Aroma is nice with some corriander and clove then comes the alcohol. Flavor is candi sugar and a big alcohol punch. A little bit of dark fruit is left on the tounge after the swallow but the alcohol is still there. It looks and smells good but its just too boozy. Does the world really need an 10% witbier?

To me this bad boy was boozey. Had a nice aroma to it and the pour was clear and orange though i was expecting a cloudy white color. Flavor was dominated by alcohol, but as it warmed i could pick out the orange and coriander. Not a bad beer.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2011 Bottle split with Pwn3d. Pours hazy dark amber. Cherry aroma - reminiscent of DFH Red and White. Flavor is cherry, slight slight alc in the aftertaste.
