2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orangish copper body with a one finger fizzy white head. The nose is very fruity and heavily spiced with some heavy pale malt and wheat. The flavor is pretty well just a crazy assault of coriander and orange peel with a big sweet pale malt and wheat base with a heavy alcohol presence. There’s pretty well no subtlety going on in here at all. Just a little too much of everything. Heavy and clingy body with a warming alcoholic finish. I really can’t get into this one too much.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Boozy, wheaty, sugary caramel malt, plum, and spice aroma. Hazy amber with a moderate off-white head, heavy flocculation. Sugary, fruity wheat malt, spice, and alcohol flavor. Medium full body, soft carbonation.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy orange-amber color. Very small head, particularly for the style. Light spotty lace on the glass.
Fresh raw wheat aroma with a strong dose of yeast. Notable alcohol in the background.
Starts off smooth and alcohol oily. The flavors of wheat are muted. In fact, the most distinctive aspect is sour, citrus flavor. The aftertaste is all alcohol. Overall, not my cup of tea (or beer that is).

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by the nice mouthfeeled Chudwick. What an interesting Wit. Floral fo shizzel. Talk of cystic fibrous is kinda dampering the mood and maybe the rating, sorry Jim, blame Pocket or even Boomer’s bad genes. Who the fuck knows? Maybe blame the Creator or a Spaghetti Monster. Such is life I suppse, unless we are in the simulation theory, then we’re all fucked, especially if they format their hard drive.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 6/1/2013. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon zest, orange peel, pear, apple, wheat, bread, honey, caramel, coriander, clove, pepper, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of malt, spice, and yeast ester notes; with decent strength. Taste of lemon zest, orange peel, pear, apple, honey, wheat, bread, caramel, coriander, clove, pepper, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of lemon/orange zest, pear, apple, honey, caramel, wheat, bread, coriander, herbal, light clove, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice balance, robustness, and complexity of malt, spice, and yeast ester flavors; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very slick and slightly syrupy mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good imperial witbier. Good balance and complexity of malt, spice, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.

4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Smells of fruits mostly banana and a slight alcohol smell as well. Poured a dark hazy orange color little to no head. Taste keeping in mind its a big boy beer has a hit of alcohol vanilla a bit of sweetness taste like a good rum. Extremely warming good for a cold winter day by the fire. At 10.3 watch out it has a kick. Awesome beer loved it recommend it to people that like the heavy drinks. Solid 9 in my book

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From a 12 ounce bottle into a Spiegelau tulip.
A: Strong sweet notes with some citrus notes also coming through.
A: Pours a nice dark golden color body with some head that disappears quickly.
T: Bold up front with very sweet flavors and strong banana taste. The spiceness is hidden behind the bold sweetness.
P: Thick bodied and minimal carbonation.
O: A little too sweet and boozy.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
January 28th, 2012 - The term “Imperial White" is a confusing at first. The White conjures memories of my first Hoegaarden enjoyed on a hot day, light and delicate, while the Imperial recollects big, burly, almost clumsy flavors. Boston Beer Company’s attempt to reconcile these two conflicting profiles is noble in its pursuit of scientific progress, but sometimes scientific progress goes “Boink!” The pour is a dark bronze, cloudy and filled with carbonation. Immediately an overpowering aroma of overripe bananas, grape, grade school glue, white chocolate, wet cement and chardonnay hits my nose. Granted, the aroma is a study unto itself, but it’s not especially attractive, just thought provoking. The palate is likewise overbearing, tumbling out and down with a heavy, sudsy weight. The noses quirks appear in the palate too, with the squishy, gray-black banana notes turned into a cloying, saccharine aftertaste. The extra booze thrown in at the end is too much too, and is a final, almost comedically sour note at the end of a jumbled mess of instruments trying to play together.
