Sam Adams Imperial White pushes the boundaries of a witbier. While the brew delivers orange and coriander notes typical of a witbier, it has a bigger mouthfeel and body. It is truly a unique brew.

Bottled at Örebro Öl- och Whiskeyfestival. Cloudy pale amber, small head. Sweet and fruity, some corander. Near full bodied with mushy, swampy mouthfeel, lots of syrup and burning alcohol finish. Reminiscent of cheap, fruity super strong lagers...

Tastes like butter... But at least it’s strong! Frothy with the appearance of a light beer. Some if my friends liked it, but..... it tastes like butter.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2011 Gosh - - I can’t remember having had this before, but apparently rated it 3.0 back in 2009, and mentioned apricots. This time, there are no apricots. It is kinda syrupy and kinda fizzy. The flavor is all metal pipe and CO2, with a touch of sickly caramel. This beer tastes terrible. I am drawn to high ABV beers like a moth to a flame; that seems to be the point of this beer (the point was definitely not flavor).

orange colored amber brown with a small off white to tannish head. this smells and tastes like grainy sunny d... or sugar coated orange and coriander flavored cereal. full bodied and syrupy with a sticky cloying mouth feel. hey, some people eat bugs... 4/3/4/2/8/2.1

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy light to medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), with very strong notes of coriander and orange soda, note of plastic. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, syrupy texture, lively/soft carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Absolutely ridiculous. WAY over the top with coriander and orange flavoring, and WAY too sweet. Pretty much undrinkable.

the perfect pour, nectarine orange on the sides and rust orange in the middle. Good white head, holds as a film. Beautiful multihued appearance in the glass. Gummy, resinous, mildly sweet sugary aroma. Thick, syrupy sugar flavor. Initial quick, sharp but small bite. eEavy alcohol burn on the way down. Causes a heavy salivary reaction.

Pours a nice color. Getting close reveals a boost smell and the taste is no different. Tastes like a beer with a strong shot poured in, and not in a good way. Drinkable, but never more than one.

Bottle. Pours brown/amber with white head.Yeast aroma, taste of alcohol. Not sure if it was a bad batch, or not, not a really pleasant beer.

Aroma- booze, peaches, bananas, funk , coriander, spices Appearance- unappealing darker orange with no head whatsoever, medium carbonation, lots of sediment Taste- oranges, booze, typical witbier qualities, funk Palate- thinner for 10% abv, weird aftertaste Overall- Just not good, in any respects. Looks awful, smells like funk, and tastes like booze inside of an orange rind. Worse than any witbier I’ve had in recent memory. I’d rather have year old Blue Moon personally.
