3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle from Total Wine (Tampa, FL). Pours a generally clear golden yellow color with a one finger bright white head that settles slowly. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of pine, light citrus, bread, caramel, some light honey notes. Flavor is sweet and malty with light notes of citrus, caramel, honey, bread, yeast, some grain notes. Generally light body with a malty finish. Not the hoppy IPA I was expecting.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JAN 2, 2010 Bottle, pint glass, approximately 40deg F.
Looks great with interesting amber/golden hue color. Pours crystal clear from the bottle with about 1/2" rich head. Nice hop aroma but less flavorful that you would expect. Its a decent value but not an exceptional beer. If it tasted like its aroma I would rate it even higher.
I have also sampled it on tap and honestly its better in the bottle.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle. Pored a bright amber color with gold highlights and is topped with a medium thick head that leaves plenty of lace. Sweet yet bitter and slightly fruity aroma with a hint of flowery hops. Slightly sweet and bitter hop flavor with a slight malt background and a hoppy finish. Light to medium bodied, bitter and slightly dry.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Good solid beer, could use a little more bite, but not too much. Good amber appearance, rich aroma, and hoppy taste, could leave a little more on the palate though.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Smooth and tasty, but not hoppy like most IPAs. Nice finish, but not spectacular. Sampled at the St. Pete Florida Craft Beer Fest.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This was really kind of a disappointing IPA, not because it is a bad beer, it is just not what I look for in an IPA. I try to judge all beers to style, but I was not really sure what they were going for here. Not really agressively hoppy enough in my opinion to be an IPA, this came across as more of an APA to me, but having said that. I agree with ClarkVV, this did the maltiness as he described, had a simple sweetness similar to an iced tea like flavor with a the citrus characteristics from the hops. This just left a lot to be desired for me.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
I have to say I was dissapointed in this. Im not a huge fan of English style IPAs, and this one isnít any different. Its too light in character, and too creamy for my IPA. I cant overlook that. I doní t get that great hoppy resin flavor or bitterness. This beer is lacking

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark orange in color. A little citrusy hops in the aroma. Malt base is there but not outstanding. Nice mellow bitterness.

Draught samples at ABF on 6/16/07
Probably not the same exact beer as listed here, and Iím betting this was brewed on the pilot system in Boston, but the abv being the same is enough cause for me not to enter yet another one-off in to our database.
Dark, copper-mahogany, almost like their new albion ale. Whatís up with these dark copper IPAs? I think I like every subsequent one I have less and less. Beige head laces lightly, showing moderate retention. Clarity is medium-high.
Smells like dirty, catty, vegetal hops, DMS(light) and some soap, with meaty yeast and bready caramel. Very sugary in the nose. Canít imagine this is what they intended. Weird hop aromas. The cascades I get, and are your basic citrus notes, though more bitterness than aroma. But the spalter and northern brewer hops dont work and the hallertauer I cant even find. Just earthy and weird. Either make a PNW IPA or not, donít half-ass it.
Flavor still shows of crystal 60 malt, sort of iced tea-like and sugary, with a weird chewiness from the wheat and more vegetal and dirty notes. All in all, I dont think I finished my sample and was less than impressed. One of the worst samples I had at the fest, which is strange, as the Jamaica Plain pilot brewery usually kicks out some really nice stuff. Underattenuated body, medium carbonation, no alcohol noted.
