wxman (436), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA Mar 13, 2008 Pours a bright ruby/amber color with a full off-white head. Aroma is maple syrup and spice. Taste is sweet roasted malt, caramel, licorice and mild hop bitterness. Not outstanding, but a decent representative of the style.
Beershine (1150), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 4, 2008 Bottle. Bright red-orange with short-lived tan head. Sweet raisin bread crust, malty aroma. Buttery entry, bready finish, sweet, could use boost in hop character and less of the butterscotch. In the end is disappointing, bordering on unpleasant. Hophead22 (113), Redlands, California, USA Aug 3, 2008 12oz. bottle. Nice ruby red color. tan head that lingers. Not much of an aroma, slight malt in the nose that’s about it. Nice malt flavor with a little bitternes in the finish, pretty good.
johnnyoski (18), Macomb Township, Michigan, USA Aug 2, 2008 12oz bottle: Pours a nice hazy ruby red color with an off-white head that quickly disappears. Aroma consists of a moderate yeast, roasted malts and a hint of caramel. Crisp, dry inital taste does give way to a little sweetness. A middle of the pack red in my book. smjohnst (108), , Pennsylvania, USA Aug 2, 2008 Had a nice killians start to it and than a sam adams boston lager finish to it. I don’t understand the falvor that is in EVERY one of their beers. This beer was awful. BrewDad (1600), Olympia, Washington, USA Jul 30, 2008 12oz Bottle - Trade - Daknole
Aroma – Nice malt and hops aroma nothing to special.
Appearance – Reddish amber in color, clear with a light head.
Flavor – A decent Irish red beer this had a good malt use and the hops where subtle.
Palate – Good Mouthfeel, nice texture with a dry finish.
Overall – A decent beer this was nothing too special. Very average as beers go I was hoping for some more spice and special flavors. Not very earthy in my opinion.
