COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This rich and malty ale originated in Ireland in 1710. It has a deep red color and distinctive caramel flavor from its Pale and Caramel malts. The malt sweetness is balanced by the earthy notes of East Kent Goldings hops. Cheers!

Pours ruby with a bit of head. Aroma isn’t too strong. Malty caramel and a bit caramel. Sweet taste but not strong and a weak body. Overall a very average beer but ill take it

Just not digging the caramel in this Irish red ale. Just tastes like brown sugar and excessive carbonation.

Bottle from San Juan. Deep ruby-copper color, medium-sized beige head. Berryish, caramelly aroma. Medium-bodied. Caramelly-candyish flavor with some berries. Sweet version of Irish red, tastes industrial.

Pours a dark amber reddish color with a medium white head. The aroma is caramel, hops, and some fruit. The taste is similar but I am not a fan of this beer.

Poured into a perfect pint. 3.25 A: Clear orange amber color. One and a half fingers of frothy beige head. Retention is a touch below average and a short ring of lacing is left. 2.75 S: Buttery with light caramel and some toastiness. Not much else going on. Super boring nose. 3.0 T: Taste is also underwhelming. Light caramel, toastiness, some buttery notes. 3.5 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Light creaminess. 3.0 D: This is about as average as it gets. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing right either. Boring beer. DavoleBomb, Jun 05, 2013

Best by date of 05.2014. Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tumbler on 02.08.14. A: Deep red. Very see through. S: Caramel. Very malty is it should be. T: Follows the nose but with a touch of slight bitterness. M: Crisp. Very bubbly. O: This was a caramel bomb. The bitterness was barely noticeable, and nicely balanced the malt. This was interesting to try against the ambers that I’ve had. It was an ok beer.

"great sweet malty backbone...not as dry as the style calls for, but i liked it way more than i thought i would. flavor and aroma better than expected, it just doesn’t fit the style too well."
