Deep amber beer with off-white head. Has a nice aroma of yeast, bread and caramel. Taste is sweet with caramel and hard candy notes as well as a firm bitterness and dry roastiness, presumably from roasted barley. There is a touch of diacetyl. Smooth, full mouthfeel but finishes a little dry. Not bad.

Oct 6, 2008 12 oz bottle from mix pack. Earthy hop with touch of fruitiness over roast and caramelized malts. Clear deep ruby with moderate off-white head. Big caramelized malt flavor with some dark sugar and moderate bitterness. Medium body and mouthfeel. Relatively dry bitter finish. Nicely balanced. A bit robust for the style but tasty.

Copper colored body. Aroma of dirt (earth) and malt. Flavor is malty and hoppy with a hit of hazelnut and nutmeg. Finish is bitter.

Oct 5, 2008 (bottle - 12 oz) Copper in color with a thin and creamy tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty with hints of caramel and honey. Flavor is lightly sweet at the beginning with hints of honey, caramel, and lots of sweet malts. Finishes clean and a bit dry with some light hoppy notes.

Oct 4, 2008 A dark red color witha small head. Has a caramel flavor but isn’t sweet. I couldn’t taste any hops but could taste earthy tones.
