Poured a hazy amber color with a small creamy off-white head. The aroma was big sweet and malty. Good notes of caramel, dried dark fruits, apples and raisins. The flavor is on the bland side after a nice aroma.. Mild wheaty lemon notes. Some maltiness...dull. Light to medium bodied.
2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 andyhite (308) - Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA - MAR 6, 2007
12oz. burnt amber/mahogany haze with an admirable foamy head; reveals a nice lacing. pleasant aromas of ripe citrus, lemon peel, subtle spice, and caramel malts. tastes like a hefe, but with a certain nougat-caramel thickness to it. thus, "dark wheat beer". could use more spice/hops/tingly mouthfeel, but it’s alright. the finish was a tad thin, but no harm no foul. a good attempt by boston brew co.
