COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unfiltered and hazy, this deep mahogany brew pours with a dense creamy head. The slight tartness of malted rye is balanced with sweeter roasted malted barley notes of cocoa and toffee. Malted barley, hand roasted by our brewers, adds a subtle smoky finish reminiscent of colonial brewing.

Translucent caramel brown color, Starts malty and light bodied, light molasses, maple, with sassafras at the finish. Not much of an aroma. Soft and smooth on the palate.

12 oz bottle. Poured a clear light brown color with orange highlights. Head was thick and off white with good retention and lacing. Aroma was of light molasses, dried fall leaves (in a good sense), and a touch of chocolate. At times there was also an estery note. Medium bodied. I enjoyed this one.

My least favorite of the four pack. amber color with plenty of head. Wheaty nose a hodgepodge of not aromas that don’t really work well together. Thick what body with similar funky flavors hanging around.

A dark copper ale with a thick light moka head. A grainy malt aroma with notes of caramel, and light bananas. In mouth, a clean crisp malt, with notes of maple, light coffee, and a bit of pit, not very smokey. Lighter bodied and a bit short. Bought in Oswego, Nov. 2006.

Bottle sampled on 3/3/07: Pours a dark copper orange with a nicely-lacing off-white head. Aroma of slightly toasty, dry, grainy wheat with a touch of milk chocolate. Body starts with a touch of caramel maltiness with some grainy wheat and toasty notes toward a thinner bittersweet finish.

12oz bottle. Bottle labeled BB Oct ’06 (damn, and I just bought this from the store 2 weeks ago). Poured a deep and murky/muddy amber color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of wheat, bananas, and a trace of spices. Tastes of wheat, caramel, toffee, chocolate, and a hint of bananas.

Bottle pours a murky maple syrup color with moderate sustained off white head. Slightly toasty nose with some spicey, burnt sugar notes. Dunkelweizen flavors, lightly sour malts and soft carbonation. Pretty accurate to style I would think.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2007 Pours a four finger light tan head that fades to a ring leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color. Light carbonation and light bodied. Wheat/malty nose. Flavor has sweetness from the malt and there is wheat and yeast coming through as well. $9.99 - 4-pak, 12oz bottle from Shaw’s Supermarket Concord, NH.

Poured a hazy amber color with a small creamy off-white head. The aroma was big sweet and malty. Good notes of caramel, dried dark fruits, apples and raisins. The flavor is on the bland side after a nice aroma.. Mild wheaty lemon notes. Some maltiness...dull. Light to medium bodied.
