Commercial Description:
Unfiltered and hazy, this deep mahogany brew pours with a dense creamy head. The slight tartness of malted rye is balanced with sweeter roasted malted barley notes of cocoa and toffee. Malted barley, hand roasted by our brewers, adds a subtle smoky finish reminiscent of colonial brewing.

Sampled from bottle. Pours murky brown-gold with an ample, sudsy white head. The stool sample brown is unattractive. Its aroma has notes of sour fruit. Balanced flavor has noticable amounts of rye. A good spicy character with tart, dry finish. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated. A unique, drinkable beer.

This beer pours the typical dunkel hazy yellow-brown color. The aroma is slightly sour with some banana? notes. A bit difficult to describe. Light(er) and refreshing with a sweet/ bitterness in the finish. It is good, but slightly smokey. Unique.

Good brew. It had minimal lacing due to the extreme age (almost 2 years out of date), the brew itself tasted kinda wheaty, with a nice dark maltiness to it. Not too overpowering in any direction. Would drink more if available to the public.

This beer was very interesting and different. Had some dark fruit flavors, and a graham cracker maltiness, full of cooked grains and some caramel and toffee. I would say the 2nd best from this offering.

(thx 2 Rick) 13 month old bottle - Lightly hazy amber color. Rich caramel/cocoa aroma. Medium sweet medium body. Caramel and toffee is there. Mild and malty. Crisp bitter sweet finish.

Bottle. Buttery aroma. Very cloudy dark brown colour. Small light brown head. The flavour is fruity and quite malty. Not so wheaty, but quite aley.
