For this special release, we wanted to brew a flavorful winter IPA that captured the aroma of the season. This brought us to juniper berries, which add a slightly sweet, piney character. Complemented by citrus notes from American hops, this balanced IPA will brighten the holidays. Cheers!

Bottle from Ron. Not bad. Hits you in the nose like you just chewed on pine needles and released their nectar. Starts dry, mellows, then dries back out again. Interesting.

I dont understand this combination. Juniper berries and IPA just sounds a good idea, but in reality what is left is bitterness that is longlasting and not refreshing more like annoying smell you cant get out. Not my style.

The appearance of this brew is a clear orange color with a medium white head that does fade at a medium pace, and the aroma blends resin and floral hops and juniper with a hint of diacetyl. The taste is quite bitter with a hint of sweetness, which is a bit too unbalanced to be truly enjoyable, and the palate fuses an average carbonation, .medium body, slick texture, and a bitter finish.

On tap at Barrels & Bottles. Dark gold and clear with a sticky white head. Aroma and flavor of pine, berries, resinous hops and citrus fruit. Average body with a crisp, clean finish. Hoppy and fruity with light sweetness, nice balance.

Aroma was decent hop scent up front with a juniper blend. Taste was okay, not a particularly great ipa...and a juniper finish that just didn’t jive well to me. This beer was given to me and I would not purchase one, glad I tried this but that’s about all.

IPA glass. The juniper blends nicely with the hops giving it a more mellow taste. Pours a clear amber with a huge head, lots of lacing.

12 oz bottle from the holiday sampler case. Pours with a minimum head and a yellow to tan color. Medium body with a nice finish of gin like tastes. A fun to try beer but perhaps only for one time.

Clean amber look, with a small amount of head. Has a pleasing citrus/spruce aroma. Has a nice juniper like after taste that reminds me a bit of gin. Dissapointed by the lack of hoppiness for an IPA. Just average by my taste.

Pours golden with a thick white head that slowly dissipates. Good lacing. Aromas are malt, muted notes of pine and citrus. Malty flavors up front, notes of grapefruit, butterscotch, juniper berries. Decent hop bite. Creamy but light mouthfeel. Actually, this is a nice brew. It’s a rather malty IPA, lacking the typical floral hop aroma of most American IPAs and but has nice flavor and a decent hop bite. Very enjoyable. Sam Adams needn’t be ashamed of this offering. Not at all.
