COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For this special release, we wanted to brew a flavorful winter IPA that captured the aroma of the season. This brought us to juniper berries, which add a slightly sweet, piney character. Complemented by citrus notes from American hops, this balanced IPA will brighten the holidays. Cheers!

Light amber color with decent head. Lots of juniper/piney aroma but the flavors were surprisingly mellow. Actually a pretty good beer overall and worth a taste.

"Fresh off the bottling line I was hoping for a little more pop. Nice enough, but a pretty restrained ipa. Pine and light citrus, some Carmel malt backbone. Light on the palate with minimal bite."

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. The label lists the abv at 5.8% abv. Appearance: From the pour I got a tall off white head which is thick and long lasting. This makes for very good lacing that coats the glass. The body of the beer has a deep golden / light amber color with good clarity and a few bubbles of carbonation. Smell: In the nose I get pale biscuity malt with loads of fresh cut spruce, pine sap and sawdust. I am also picking up a spicy note as well which adds a gingerbread like character to the aroma. Taste / Palate: It’s pale and light, almost watery up front at first. Biscuity maltiness lays down a base for a big hit of pine like hop flavor and bitterness to follow. Notes of juniper berries and fresh cut pine mix with a now gingerbread like maltiness before hop bitterness finishes and then lingers on the palate. Carbonation feels soft and the overall feel is smooth.

12 oz. bottle poured into a sensory glass. Pours a nice reddish dark copper with a tall off-white head that slowly dissipates while leaving a lot of lacing. Smells of juniper, honey, citrus, and piney hop notes. Tastes just as it smells, nice hop presence up front and good bitter finish. In between, flavors of juniper run across the palate, giving it a slight gin-like taste. Nicely balanced between the sweet bread and juniper with the bitter hops. Overall, a solid IPA, with the juniper being a nice touch, easy drinking enough to work in the warmer months, but heavy enough to fit in perfectly for winter consumption.

Variety pack bottle. Pours copper with off-white head. Nose was caramel malt, hops, mild florals. Tastes of caramel malt, piney floral hops. RReminds me a hybrid of boston lager and Noble pils.

Tap at West Coast Brew Fest 2014. Pours amber gold with a white head. Aroma is juniper, but it made me think celery at first. Med body. Flavor is very "gin". Yeah! Really good!!!

12 oz bottle from the Winter mix 12-pack. Not the first juniper IPA I’ve had, but perhaps the best. Contrary to expectation, this was not overly piney or harsh. The juniper was most obvious in the aroma, although citrusy hops dominate both the aroma and the flavor. Relatively low bitterness. Fine amber color with a decent head.

bottle - Clear amber-orange pour, small off-white head... it has a mild aroma with some citrus and a bit of pine. The flavor is moderately bitter with sweet caramel malt. It’s medium bodied and overall pretty good.

Poured clear amber with a 2-finger white head. Mild piney aroma with an earthy note. Medium body, a bit oily, with a lightly dry finish. Flavor of piney hops with a resiny note. Good, but wanted more from the juniper.
