Denver Rare Beer Tasting 2010. Some spice and tartness on this beer, but it just wasn’t enough to be impressive, or quite frankly memorable, which is why I have no better notes.

Muddled dark red pour. Aroma is acetic, some funky wood, and red fruit, spice. flavors are nicely developed, some wet funky wood, spicy malt, some sour acetic tones near the end wraps it all up. A really nice one from Sam Adams, I was a bit suprised.

Pouring at Night of the Funk on the Friday night of Belgian Beer Fest in Boston. Pours a hazed ruby brown with a thin white head. Light funk. Thin, sweet and funky. Tang and faint fruit. Acetic vinegar notes on the finish.

sample @ the Denver Rare Beer Tasting II on 9/17/10. red pour with no head. light funky nose with a touch of oak... would really like the nose to be stronger - I had to search for these aromas - but given a better glass it would have been a bit easier. medium body - tart over the mouth with cherry notes, oak, vanilla... finishes much better than the rest of the experience with a tart / oak ending and somewhat sour. Overall a light sour with more cherry presence.

This is not my favorite style but I will generous. Sampled at the CBF.
Amber/ brown pour. very noticable fruity aromas. (Cherry) taste was well sour. Blended well enough to combine the alcohol and fruit to a satisfactory taste. An interesting taste.

Avery Sour Ale Fest. Pretty nice. Extremely smooth compared to some of the other brews at the fest. I got mostly brown sugar notes from this one with some earthiness and funk. Would like to try this one again.

On tap at Avery Sour Fest poured a clear brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of sour fruit, barnyard, horseblanket and light spice. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a dry tart finish. Flavors of sour fruit, earthiness, horseblanket and light spice with a smooth dry lingering tart funky finish.
