On tap at Brewers Ball Dallas. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong funk, oak, leather. Medium body, oak, spice, strong sourness, very nice.

Draft at WOB Baltimore. Pours ruby brown with a fizzy beige head. Tastes like sour dark fruits, earthy malt, tart plums, raisins, and pears. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like plums, pears, tart raisins, earthy malt, and sour dark fruits.

Night of the Funk. I wish I could read my handwriting, but my notes basically describe a fruity, cherry beer that is a bit on the acetic side.

NOTF 2010. Deep ruddy amber pour. The nose is quite oaky with a soft lactic back note. A lot of sweet/tart cherry along with a rich sort of vineous wildness. The sourness is fairly simple with a kiss of acetone fruitiness (I’d normally consider the latter a flaw, but it’s so subtle that it adds an interesting flavour). A little bit of muskiness that I quite like. Oaky with a touch of light vanilla and some soft tannic character on the back. Nice brew.

Pour on tap at Avery Sourfest 2012, slightly hazy dark reddish pour with thin off white head, aroma brought notes of dark red cherry, raspberry, hints of red wine, dark fruits and caramel, slight funky earth with some dusty blanket, hints of lactic lemon as well, smells fairly nice. Taste is pretty decent, some nice funky notes with a big wine character, slight berry notes with a hint of lemony lactic finishing fairly bitter. Very low to almost no carbonation killed it slightly, but overall a decent attempt.

@ 2012 Avery SourFest. Murky brownish orange, no head. Kinda smells like honey and earthy toffee aged in some light sour oak. Tastes the same, kinda sweet and earthy with a light sourness on the end that lingers. Not too sour, very enjoyable and kinda sweet and sessionable.

Tap at Avery Sour Fest 3. Pours hazy brown with a small, bubbly off-white head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is cherry, plum, and fig esters, oak, toast and cookie malt with brown sugar notes. Flavor is faint molasses, apple, cherry, plum, and fig esters, oak, light malt and a dry finish. Medium body, low carbonation.

Tap @ Avery SourFest III. Copper appearance with a tiny head. A bit spicy, tannic, dark berry, vinegar aroma. Tart dark berry, grape, a bit citrusy, vinegar, oaky flavor.

Tap at 3rd Annual Boulder SourFest (06-02-2012). Poured a murky amber with no head. Smell is oak, cherries, light funk, barnyard, and tannin. Taste is vinegar, cherry, oak, funk, and a touch of brett. Light body with absolutely no carbonation. Meh.
