(Draught) Pours hazy reddish brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of cherry, oak, mustiness, and light horse blanket. Flavor of barrel, cherry skins, and light funkiness with a dry finish.

GABF 2014. A good Flanders sour, although not quite as good as what I just had from the Bruery in Oude Tart. Sour aroma and tart flavor; more balsamic, and the lacto is there but I am not picking up the brett.

A nice sour that is more complex then a beer doctored with lacto b. More sour then some people would prefer. 16 oz. pours at Tilted Kilt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample at Denver Rare Beer Tasting VI on 10/03/2014. Slightly hazy reddish-amber color with a medium off=white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing. Aroma of cherry, funky yeast and herbs. Medium body with flavors of tart cherry, berries, yeast and spice. The finish is fruity with a funky cherry aftertaste. Above average overall.

Aroma of caramel, toffee, candy sugar, raisins, terra cotta, and a touch of cranberry. Clear dark purplish red in appearance, greyish foam, some lace. Tastes of lingering sour black currant, some light vinegar, a touch of bitter hay, and gentle candy sugar in the background. Palate is a little oily and a little fizzy, filling, but nice. Overall, this beer is great!

Tap at Sam Adams. Dark purple-black. Sweet, slightly sour nose. Thinnish. Tart more than sour. Almost rich. Tastes of black currants, slight vinegar--but balanced.

his is somewhere between a Belgian and an American sour, in my mind. Sour fruit, with maybe a bit of fresh hop, and a little sweetness keeping the sour in check. Very refreshing for a beer with this much flavor. I

On tap at the Night of the Funk 2012. Fruity, acetic, and barrely with mild dusty funk. Not bad at all.

Night of the Funk. I wish I could read my handwriting, but my notes basically describe a fruity, cherry beer that is a bit on the acetic side.

NOTF 2010. Deep ruddy amber pour. The nose is quite oaky with a soft lactic back note. A lot of sweet/tart cherry along with a rich sort of vineous wildness. The sourness is fairly simple with a kiss of acetone fruitiness (I’d normally consider the latter a flaw, but it’s so subtle that it adds an interesting flavour). A little bit of muskiness that I quite like. Oaky with a touch of light vanilla and some soft tannic character on the back. Nice brew.

Pour on tap at Avery Sourfest 2012, slightly hazy dark reddish pour with thin off white head, aroma brought notes of dark red cherry, raspberry, hints of red wine, dark fruits and caramel, slight funky earth with some dusty blanket, hints of lactic lemon as well, smells fairly nice. Taste is pretty decent, some nice funky notes with a big wine character, slight berry notes with a hint of lemony lactic finishing fairly bitter. Very low to almost no carbonation killed it slightly, but overall a decent attempt.
