COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our new 2013 release features Mosaic hops, a new hop from the Pacific Northwest. They add a burst of citrus notes to the distinctive layers of German, English and other American hops, all from growing regions near the "hop belt" of the 48th Latitude. Cheers!

Bottle. A- Citrus, grapefruit, hoppy, grassy, weed. A- Copper color, clear liquid, white head. T- Citrus, grapefruit, grassy, spruce, bitter, slight funk. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- I feel like I should have smoked this beer instead of drank it. The aroma especially and even the taste brings up thoughts of weed. The citrus was good and made for a very juicy IPA. Interesting to say the least.

Pours deep gold into a Sam glass. White head quickly recedes to hug rim. Pine and resin aromas. Dry with sweet caramel and resin front to back. Dry medium length finish.

12oz bottle from a Wegman’s in Buffalo, NY. - No 2 in the series of single-hopped versions of Latitude 48. Gold amber with a thin cream head; citrus aroma; clean grapefruit taste with a sweet fruity malt body; and a zingy grapefruit finish. A good showcase for Mosaic hops.

12 oz bottle. Pours dark amber with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of citrusy hops, tropical fruit and caramel malt. Body is medium and slightly crisp. Citrusy hops, caramel malt tropical fruits are balanced on the palate. Finish is medium, semidry. Easy drinking, balanced, tasty IPA, much better than #1 in the series.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a reddish amber color with a thick off white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, citrus, caramel malt and Sam Adam’s house yeast. Flavor is medium bitterness with a lot of mosaic hop fruitiness. Mild caramel notes. Medium bodied, finishes bitter. This is ok.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Clear orange beer with a small white head. Peachy and hoppy aroma is strong. Flavour is quite sweet with soft maltiness and peach. Decent bitterness as well. Gets a bit worse when warmed up.

Solid, if modest head. Starts with some webby lace. The color is light amber/dark gold color. Pleasantly mellow crystal malt/floral hop aroma. This is a very easy to drink IPA. It has all of the traditional elements--strong malt start to the taste, notable white-pepper hop swallow and finish, and a decently full body. Moderate carbonation.

12 oz bottle poured into my IPA Spiegelau glass- Pours copper orange with a nice two finger creamy head and a cascade of carbonation bubbles rising to the surface. The aroma is citrusy, spicy hops, floral. The taste is spicy hops, citrus is in the background, earthy. The body is medium, these hops impart a dense earthy feel that I am not a huge fan of, carbonation is fairly high. I have a hard time comparing to the other Latitude 48 IPA’s since It has been months since I last had them, but this is definitely not in the running for my favorite.

poisoneddwarf (1692) - Rathdrum, Idaho, USA - OCT 25, 2013
12 oz bottle from the Fall Variety pack. Aroma is citrusy, Kool-Aid powder, earthy, perfumy, floral. Pours clear copper with a large beige head that laces the glass really nicely. Taste is earthy, citrusy. Crisp and refreshing. Medium body, average carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Nice IPA that diverges from typical Pacific NW examples.

It is amazing how a hop can change the profile. This was different than what I expected. The aroma was not strong and woodsy. The color was a dirty golden amber color with a nice head. The weight and carbonation were average. The flavor was blended and unique, almost spicy and earthy. Unique but not my favorite of this series.
