Our new 2013 release features Mosaic hops, a new hop from the Pacific Northwest. They add a burst of citrus notes to the distinctive layers of German, English and other American hops, all from growing regions near the "hop belt" of the 48th Latitude. Cheers!

Pours a medium dark amber with a medium white head. Smells of hops and a citrus. Tastes malty with slight sweetness and citrus. Slight bitterness but blends into nice aftertaste on palate. Drank 4-5 and will do so again!!

12oz bottle, 2013 IPA Hopology Mixed 12pk. Deep copper color, off-white colored ring. Smells of toasted grains, caramel malts, and fresh brewed hops aromas. The nose of this beer reminds me of the smells of the Rogue brewery the very first time I walked into the building! Scents of salt air and hops, with steamed malt powder. Yum. Very nice smell of Pacific Northwest hops. Tastes of toasted malt, caramel, bread, toast, cereal, resin, herbs, lemon zest, dough, and leather. This beer really has a few different layers going on. Tastes like an all American IPA with huge toasted malt dominating the beer, followed by big hop bitterness. Leather character overwhelms the palate. I really like this beer, it really reminds me of Oregon. (3659)

Light amber pour with a white head. Floral and citrus peel aroma. Notes of lemon, biscuit malt, and a bit of Fruity Pebbles. Very light pine aroma. The flavor is a bit sweeter than I’d like. Biscuit and bread, Fruity Pebbles, and sweet citrus. Floral, lemon zest, and light pine hop flavors. Very light bitterness.

Bottle from sonnycheeba. Pours clear amber with a large, frothy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is grassy, herbal, spicy, and minty hops with biscuit and meal malt and light pear fruity esters. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness, supporting malt, clean with no fermentation derived fruity esters, hop dominant with a dry and spicy finish. Medium-light body, moderate carbonation, no warmth, creaminess, or astringency.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some great lacing. Aroma consists of fruity hops with some grassy notes. Taste is a great mix of floral hops notes of fruit with light lingering sweet notes and with light bitterness which can be found in the aftertaste. Body is about average with great carbonation. I really enjoyed the Mosaic hops which to me present some similarities with New Zealand hops type.

Rich copper and amber coloured body with a dense, three centimetre tall tan head - nice and deep amber tints too. Aroma of bunches of malt, a bit of earthiness, some lighter grassy and herbal notes and some lightish, grainy hop scents. Medium-bodied; Fresh grassy, herbal and earthy hop flavours at first gives way almost immediately for a mild malt flavour and a herbal and grassy flavour. Aftertaste shows not much of anything - perhaps grass and herbs with the faintest of hop notes and not much malt or depth at all. Overall, not such a great offering, and I remember all previous Latitude 48 releases to be much better than this one - and I’m drinking this one fresh! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Arlington (Lee Highway/Spout Run), Virginia on 12-March-2013 for US$1.67 sampled at home in Washington on 26-March-2013 to celebrate a draw for the US Men’s National team against Mexico.

Hmmm...it seems that I rate all IPA's above the average score. This one isn't bad either. Effervescent with some malty sweetness shining through the hoppy nose. Malt doesn't stand out on the tongue though, it is definitely hop forward. Easy drinking and clean. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, bought @ Irma, Nørrebro. Pours clear copper amber with a lovely, large, staying, creamy white head. Aroma is mild, grassy, light herbal, some caramel and bergamot. Medium carbonation, fine creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has caramel, light doughy with fine bitterness. Bergamot, apricot. Fine bitter finish.

Pours a clear copper with a fluffy 2-finger off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is typical citrus IPA. Taste is typical citrus, pine, and flowers. Very clean with relatively low bitterness. Not sure I can really tell that the new hops are in here, but this is a good enough IPA.

Copper pour with a 1 finger, creamy off white head. Aroma of biscuit, toast, light caramel, toffee, citrus, floral and spicy hops. Flavor is a little faint up front, but not bad, toast, caramel and fruity hops, followed up by floury grain, citrus, spicy, floral, a hint of pine and cat box. The finish is a nice bitter grapefruit, meets pine buds with a a little caramel. Light, dry body with a slightly creamy feel on entry, moderate, blanketing carbonation. Good stuff, lots more bitterness than I would have expected, I wonder if this will be replacing Latitude 48 this year or if it is only for the HopOlogy mix pack.
