Our new 2013 release features Mosaic hops, a new hop from the Pacific Northwest. They add a burst of citrus notes to the distinctive layers of German, English and other American hops, all from growing regions near the "hop belt" of the 48th Latitude. Cheers!

Clear reddish gold with a cm of white head. Aroma is bright citrus with minor vegetal notes. Taste is more firmly bitter than expected, with a firm pithy punch that is underpinned by nice biscuity malt.

Best before June 2013.
Appearance: The body is a clear copper with fine carbonation bubbles in the body. The light tan head is short but dense with average retention. The head settles into a thin coating covering the top.
Aroma: Citrus is the strongest aroma here, but the aroma on the whole is a bit muted. This doesn’t smell bad, but I wish the hops had more presence.
Taste: The hops appear stronger here providing a moderate bitterness with a prominent citrus flavor with a touch of floral and spicy presence. The malt base balanced the hops nicely with hints of caramel. This is very enjoyable.
Palate: Medium bodied with a full texture, soft but plentiful carbonation.
Overall: If the aroma were a bit stronger I would like this a lot more. Even so, this is a more than acceptable IPA at this price range. This is worth buying a six pack of.

Bottle. Pours clear copper with a medium lacing rocky off-white head. Aroma is biscuits, caramel, pine, herbs, peach, grain and citrus. Taste is near medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium, texture is soft, carbonation is average+. Finishes malty sweet. This is surprisingly malty for an IPA.

Bottle from Hopology 12 pk. Pours an amber color with a small thick head that settles quickly leaving lil’ sudsy islands. Big sweet grapefruit smell with a hint of malt & lemon. Very sweet grapefruit juice hit on the tongue initially followed by some lemon, biscuity malt finished by some sweet citrus/hop tartness. Improvement from the original brew, hop profile changed quite abit.

Improved from the original formula, the 2013 version has an extra burst of flavorful hops to move this from the highly balanced category more towards what most drinkers are looking for from an IPA. Grapefruit notes are heaviest here, with a bit of pine and citrus. Malt presence can be noted and seems to taste similar to previous years, but has moved into a supporting role rather than being the co-star of this brew. The hops are front and center, the way an IPA should taste. Aroma seems a tad weaker than some IPAs, but I could use a decongestant, so that impression probably isn’t worth much. Weights in at 6% abv, whereas many similar tasting IPAs are at 7%- which may either be a plus, a minus, or a who the hell cares depending on when and why you’re drinking this. ;)

355 ml. bottle poured in to a tulip. Clear, amber colour with a dense, white head. Fruity aroma with citrus and floral hops, a good amount of caramel and bread malts. Taste is light sweet. Finishes bitter with a good amount of citrus and floral hops. A good beer.
