COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our new 2013 release features Mosaic hops, a new hop from the Pacific Northwest. They add a burst of citrus notes to the distinctive layers of German, English and other American hops, all from growing regions near the "hop belt" of the 48th Latitude. Cheers!

(bottle - 12 oz) Slightly hazy orange pour with a fluffy white head. Big citrusy sweet hop aroma that Iím coming to love a lot more than your run of the mill dry bitter hops. Sweet and fruity hops at the start with lots of citrus and almost candy notes. Moves to a bitter middle and a bitter finish but still keeps that citrus and pine resin flavor.

Poured from bottle into a schooner glass, part of the 2013 Fall season mix-pack. It poured a mostly clear orange-ish amber colour, slight chill haze, with short-lived white foam. Great American IPA hoppy notes, presumably coming mainly from the Mosaic: citrusy, grapefruity, juicy fruit gum, pine resin, tomato plant and some classic noble earthy, peppery, flowery aspects too. Solid grainbill underneath: crisp, malty, faint caramel, tasty but nothing too notable which might get in the way of the hops. Light body, strong carbonation, well-rounded mouthfeel, long-lasting fruity and bittersweet aftertaste. Really tasty, canít believe this came in cheap mix-pack from the grocery store. The Boston Beer Company does a great job of keeping the widely distributed beers from tasting mass-produced.

I might not be the most partial when it comes to rating IPAs, even when it is a Sam Adams, but I was not a big fan of this beer. The pros: very hoppy flavor. The Cons: bad aftertaste, less-than-good taste overall. Again, Iím just not a fan of IPAs.

Bottles. Bright amber color with ivory head. Nice citrusy, spicy hop, pale malt aromas. medium body, average carbonation. Crisp, spicy , citrusy hop flavors with a solid toasted malt base---very tasty IPA

Appearance has a golden amber color supporting a fairly thin but steady head leaving fair lace. Smell has a nice balanced aroma between the caramel malt and citric floral hops present. Taste is geared more toward the bittering making it obviously an IPA, but leaving an unbalanced after bittering over the malt. Mouthfeel is medium light with good carbonation.

Pours a medium clear copper orange with a decent lasting head. Aroma is grapefruit, pine, pineapple, and a tropical note. Flavor matches, with a caramel accented malt backbone to go with it. A very solid IPA. Liked this quite a bit. Well played Sam, well played. Have to give them credit, they can crank out some really nice brews on occasion.

Bottle, 07/22/2013. Pours burnt amber, medium fluffy head, great retention. Aroma is caramel, floral hops with tangerine and cantaloupe, tropical pine spiciness. Taste is softly fruity, grapefruit and herbal grassy bitterness, good toasted caramel backing. Medium body, quite drinkable. Really, tasty and not too bad at all.

I must admit that I did not want tobrate this so high but being honest it is an extremely solid ipa. Better than expected the flavors are great the smell and feel very good too excellent. Sam Adams I wish you made more beer luke this a pat on the back is well deserved. Solid safe choice.

Bottle: The aroma consists of caramel, citrus, and earthy notes. It pours a transparent amber with a two finger off-white head that eventually settles to a thin film. Thereís a good amount of sticky webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of caramel and light fruit. The finish has moderate grapefruit with just a touch of spice. Itís light-medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation. Overall, Iíd say itís in the middle of the pack as far the other hopped versions. I preferred the Zeus and Simcoe versions.
