3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
I got the 12-pack last July and stashed it in the fridge with the idea of a video tasting comparing all six at once. Never got around to happening. Now it’s 10 months later, and I finally decide to just do two at a time. I’m comparing this to the Simcoe, both poured in Sam Adams glasses.
Pour: Kicks up more foam than the EKG did, more bubble action. Same amber color and floaties, hop bits or yeast sediment, I’m not sure. One I finally get all the bottle poured, I have rocky peaks over the glass edge.
Aroma: At this age, I get of medicinal smell from oxidation, my fault for not getting around to it. But that increases the perception of alcohol. Some citrus and pear in the hops.
Taste: Hops still prominent in the form of bitterness. Some pine resin notes. Fuller mouthfeel when tasted one after another. Though with a few more swigs, that thicker malt texture lightens up. Still, gotta say there are enough hops involved right to the end, although by now they give a definite impression of dried hops. But I should’ve drunk these 9 months ago.

Pours a dark rust orange. Has a strong floral hop and light citrus aroma. Taste has a mix of fruity malt, citrus hops, and a lot of grains. Very watered down in flavor. A dry and light bitter aftertaste.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a deep gold with a thick head. Lighter tasting than it looks and has a good IPA bite. A bit of a pine/grapefruit aftertaste but not bad. It's nice to taste how they mix hops to build an IPA, a single hop isn't the best for results

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a nice amber color with a massive off-white amber tinged head. The head has fantastic retention and last a very long time, with it eventually fading leaving a wonderful level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of a sweeter smell with a good deal of tangerine, mango, and pineapple along with a moderate showing of herbal and floral aromas. Some pine and grapefruit hop smells are there as well and mix with some bready and caramel aromas to produce a rather pleasantly sweet, and malty smell overall.
Taste – The taste begins with strong showing of a bready and caramel flavor mixed with a decent sum of a tropical fruit sweetness. Along with the sweet and malty are some flavors of a pine and grapefruit hop upfront. Some herbal and grassy hop flavors join the taste profile as the taste advances with the grapefruit fading a bit but the pine growing slightly stronger in nature. While the sweetness is mainly of a caramel nature upfront, some of the tropical fruits grow even stronger on the tongue with them surpassing the caramel. The newly arriving flavors, with the sweeter and hop flavors of the brew that were present upfront, end up leaving a rather decently hop blended and moderately malty and sweet smoother flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is just above average in thickness for a brew of only 6 % abv. with the carbonation level that is rather average. The medium body and higher carbonation are quite fitting for the blend of hop, sweet and matiness of the brew and create a rather easy drinking feel overall.
Overall – This is a nice brew overall with a big malt and sweet profile, but yet balanced by a diverse hop taste profile, even though it is only singly hopped. Almost as good as the original latitude 48 and certainly an interesting try.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours clear amber with some off white head and decent lacing. Nose is surprisingly sweet with some pine. Grapefruit comes through in the taste. Lasting bitterness in the backend. Not my favorite of the series.
