COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams® Latitude 48 IPA is a unique IPA brewed with a select blend of hops from top German, English, and American growing regions all located close to the 48th latitude within the “hop belt” of the Northern Hemisphere. The combination of hops in this beer creates a distinctive but not overpowering hop character. The beer is dry hopped with Ahtanum, Simcoe®*, and East Kent Goldings hops for a powerful citrus and earthy aroma. The hop character is balanced by a slight sweetness and full body from the malt blend.

MacDouglass (88) - Illinois, USA - SEP 29, 2012
Aroma: some sugardough and malts, otherwise somewhat muted; Appearance: a deeper, transluscent brown than I would have expected, good carbonation well after the pour; Taste: mostly average, good blend between grapefruit rind and juniper, a very green, fresh taste without being overly bitter; Palate: pretty refreshing, although there’s something in the aftertaste that doesn’t necessarily make you want to immediately have another, I think its a bitterness that’s not exactly a hoppy bitterness; Overall: I had this beer when it first came out (label as shown), and I didn’t really like it that much, I swear that the Lat 48 w/ the lime green label is better, call me crazy, but that’s my impression, anyhow, not too bad, but its still a strictly average beer for me, especially for an IPA

Idiosynkrasie (4666) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAY 27, 2015
355ml bottle. Clear though diffractive amber colour with average, thick, fluffy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Cautious aroma in gerneral, caramel and almond malty basis with fruity hoppy overtones, hints of orange, orange biscuit. Taste is initially dry hoppy, some pine and lemon, more influence from the caramel malty basis in the middle part, the finish is again dry - if not bone dry; soft palate, superb fine pored, smooth, thereby lively carbonation. Clean, sober, rather monotonous and quite boring in taste, with almost perfect outward appearance on the other hand.

Geiserich (3618) - Linz, AUSTRIA - MAY 17, 2015
Bottle: Amber to copper color, brownish head. Aroma is malty, caramelic with pine and herbal notes. Flavor is also malty, light sugary/caramelic, pine, notes of resin, herbs. More the rough way to make an IPA but quite OK.

Vestergaard (838) - Aarhus C, DENMARK - MAY 9, 2015
Bottle. Clear, amber pour with a small white head. Aroma has a fruity blend of malts and slightly old hops, like old orange and rotten carrot, but also peach and mango. Slightly earthy. Taste is more pleasant with a certain malt sweetness, but also lots of fresh, hoppy bitterness. Medium oily body and a light carbonation.

This IPA comes with a brown golden colour and a rich aroma of grape fruit, citrus and caramel all accompanied by a creamy dense foam. One of the best of its kind....

Pours dark golden with a creamy off white head. Aroma is citrus, tropical fruits, and pine. Flavor is a crystal malt start with grapefruit, some sweet tropical fruit in the middle and a grapefruit and pine hop finish. This is the best IPA attempt from Sam Adams.
