Samuel Adams® Latitude 48 IPA is a unique IPA brewed with a select blend of hops from top German, English, and American growing regions all located close to the 48th latitude within the “hop belt” of the Northern Hemisphere. The combination of hops in this beer creates a distinctive but not overpowering hop character. The beer is dry hopped with Ahtanum, Simcoe®*, and East Kent Goldings hops for a powerful citrus and earthy aroma. The hop character is balanced by a slight sweetness and full body from the malt blend.

12 FL Oz bottle. dark orange with a small fizzy white head with some lacing. nose is pretty typical for SA-there is still a lingering artificial plastic malt note under the piney hops, earthy tones and berry fruity notes. I just dont like their beers because of the nose in most of them is awful. This one is better than most, but still not that good. flavors sart with sweet malt, pine, herbal hops lite resin and that fruit note from the yeast (or artificial malt/extract). the plastic comes out even more when its warm-some veggie notes as well.

Bottle. Clear caramel color, small offwhite head. Not much Nose, a little fruit. Crisp taste, malty finish with a hint of hops. Medium body, average carbonation.

clear copper pour, a finger of head. Grassy, mild pine and grapefruit, sweet malt a little more prominent than I would like in an IPA. Decent enough for what it is.

Bien goûteuse au départ mais ça s’estompe un peu trop vite. C’est bien malté, résineux mais un peu léger en saveur...

Pours a coppery hue with foamy white head. Aromas are a touch lighter than expected, but consist of floral hops, a hint of citrus grapefruit. Tastes are fairly balanced with a bit more malt than the hops which are producing a lemon/lime flavour with only the merest hint of pine. Overall, definitely a bit too mild of an IPA for my palate which has welcomed many a hop bomb.

Light in flavor and the finish is not so good. Obviously drinkable but not very good for being an IPA.

Samuel Adams Fantastic Four (4-pack from Systembolaget 83 SEK). Hoppy aroma with a mix of american and european hops. Amber color with white head. Bitterness is higher than expected, Some caramel malts. Good!

Caramel, bread and raisins and maybe some licorice in the aroma. Very nice. Amber color with white head. Little less flavor than the aroma suggests I think, but very nice bitterness.

Another solid entry in the hopology series. Nose is pine, bitter grapefruit, caramel, and a bit of spice. Taste is the same: a good solid malt backbone with a nice gently dry finish. There’s that familiar Sam Adams spiciness in the malt, which seems to appear in most of the Hopology series. On the one hand it feels sort of repetitive, but on the other hand it’s neat to see how it interplays with their different hop combinations. Overall this is pretty darn good for a macro beer, especially when you can buy a 24 mixer pack for $25 (well you can in Florida, at least).

Strong hoppy aroma. Clear gold colour. Malty front with bitter, grapefruit flavour. Medium body with lively carbonation.
