COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams® Latitude 48 IPA is a unique IPA brewed with a select blend of hops from top German, English, and American growing regions all located close to the 48th latitude within the “hop belt” of the Northern Hemisphere. The combination of hops in this beer creates a distinctive but not overpowering hop character. The beer is dry hopped with Ahtanum, Simcoe®*, and East Kent Goldings hops for a powerful citrus and earthy aroma. The hop character is balanced by a slight sweetness and full body from the malt blend.

Wow! My new top-rated bottle beer. The only weakness is the relatively muted aroma. Complex flavors: strong hops with sweet caramel, fairly bitter with lingering bitter finish. ABV 6.0% makes this a sipping beer, not a post-hockey game beer you drink with the guys. The color is a beautiful reddish-brown. This beer has so much body, it sheets up on a beer glass like pinot noir. Fabulous!

Pours a clear amber with slightly soft beige head. Nice citrus hoppy nose. Bitter hoppy that delivers as mostly citrus with a little pine. Smooth taste overall. Alright IPA hoppy without brutalizing the beer.

Clear copper with a white head. Aroma is sweet and malty. The taste is lemon, grass and hops.

12 oz bottle. Nice looking copper color; holds a thin, silky, white head for a very long time. Aroma biscuit, pear, orange, maybe some darker fruit even. Caramel, malt, dry green hoppy finish but not overpowering. Medium body; surprisingly sticky. Really pretty decent for Sam’s everyday stuff.

Bottle. Pours an amber color with white head. Citrus, hoppy, caramel aromas. Bitter, hoppy, resiny, caramel flavors. Somewhat goopy. Not a great IPA.

Rated on 3-28-2011 (Bottle purchased at Total Wine & More-Ft. Myers, FL) When poured, this beer has a small very fizzy beige head, amber transparent body, minimal carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is caramel malt, citrus, pine, and floral hops. The taste is moderately bitter, spicy, caramel malt, citrus, and pine hops. The mouthfeel is lively and this beer is light-medium bodied. This beer has a nice hoppy flavor with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. It is not extremely hoppy tasting for the style.

12oz bottle. As far as IPAs go this one is pretty mild. Nice and floral palate with a solid hop finish. Not bad at all.

Lemony/citrus aroma. Taste is piney, citrus, lemon peel, grapefruit, maybe a tad of orange. Very smooth and definitely drinkable.

1-Some grapefruit and lemon up front followed by a whiff of biscuits. Some fruity esters as it warms. Plum. 2- Dark straw-light orange with a persistant off white head. Crystal clear. 3- A tart hop bitterness with a lingering aftertaste. Soft malt sweetness is overwhelmed with the bitterness. 4- A medium body with a slick texture. Medium carb with a major bitter aftertaste. 5- Not one of the better IPA’s that I have tried. I found that the bitterness was sharp and could have been rounded out with some more malt sweetness.
