COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams® Latitude 48 IPA is a unique IPA brewed with a select blend of hops from top German, English, and American growing regions all located close to the 48th latitude within the “hop belt” of the Northern Hemisphere. The combination of hops in this beer creates a distinctive but not overpowering hop character. The beer is dry hopped with Ahtanum, Simcoe®*, and East Kent Goldings hops for a powerful citrus and earthy aroma. The hop character is balanced by a slight sweetness and full body from the malt blend.

I definitely notice the presence of American hops in this beer, and it makes me like it more than any other IPA I’ve tried. There’s a lightness and freshness to this beer that I find really welcoming. IPA’s are often too heavy for my tastes. Quite bitter, but I find the finish is less bitter than typical. Cleaner tasting. Really enjoyable and among the most interesting / unusual beers I’ve tried from Sam Adams yet.

Bottle at Crossfire. Nice amber colour white head. Hoppy nose, grapes taste. The bitter finish was a nice companion to the "diablo" burger I was enjoying.

Clear copper color with a full, ecru colored head. Nice lace. Green hops aromas dominate. Hints of fresh herbs and lightly caramelized malts in the background. Flavors are quite dry. Dry white toast comes to mind. Mild bitterness with a some grapefruit zest and pith. Not much depth to this one. Rather linear. Last bottle of the six pack and it seems that I’ve been less excited about trying each successive one. 7/10

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2016 Flaske.

Hinten raus leichte Bittre.

Color is clear amber with ok off-white head. aroma of caramel, hops and fruit. Taste is sweetish at first turning into a bitter finish. A little bit of alcohol in finish, but it’s not too much. Decent IPA.

Amber medium-bodied ale, with an aroma revealing mostly caramel malt, but also some hops. The flavour is mostly spicy hops, but also distinctive malt. Light sweetness with medium bitterness. Ends on a spicy note. Overall, this is a simple and drinkable beer, but I like the hops they have chosen, and the balance is good.

Pours a medium golden amber color. Aromas of citrus and fruit. Flavor is a big hop presence with subtle tastes of fruit and vegetables, then more hops.
