COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams® Latitude 48 IPA is a unique IPA brewed with a select blend of hops from top German, English, and American growing regions all located close to the 48th latitude within the “hop belt” of the Northern Hemisphere. The combination of hops in this beer creates a distinctive but not overpowering hop character. The beer is dry hopped with Ahtanum, Simcoe®*, and East Kent Goldings hops for a powerful citrus and earthy aroma. The hop character is balanced by a slight sweetness and full body from the malt blend.

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2013 355 ml bottle, poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Clear dark amber with a medium sized beige head, left foam patches when reduced. Aroma of grapefruit, lemon peels and pine. Taste of grapefruit, lemon, caramel and butterscotch. Medium carbonation and light-medium body. Less bitter than the average IPA, slight sweetness. Nothing outstanding for the style, just a good easy to drink IPA.

Amber color with a thick white head. Aroma is caramel and nutty with a bit of pine hops. Flavor is somewhat astringent pine hops with a nutty finish. Some slight sweet caramel in the finish. Finishes a bit one note with the bitterness, but overall pretty drinkable.

Gylden farge med lavt skum. Aroma av mild grapefrukt, noe sitrus og malt. Overraskende bitter smak, i hvert fall aromaen tatt i betraktning. Ellers sitrus, malt og litt furu. Tynn/medium konsistens.

Bottle--gold color with a small, white head. Some malt and caramel in the aroma to balance the citrus. The taste is pretty even between malts and hops with nothing jumping out at you. Good solid session IPA. Total Wine.

Klar, mörkt kopparfärgad med liten skumkrona. Svag sötma med lite humle i eftersmaken. Återigen en IPA med minimal beska, men välbalanserad & god.

Thin off-white head of varying sized bubbles with good carbonation. Weak aroma with some hops presence and mild malts . Color is a nice brownish orange. Flavor is moderate hoppy goodness with a nice balance of malts and roasted grains. Nothing really jumps out but just a good balance of flavors. Finishes mild bitterness with some lingering bitter orange.

Decent IPA. Emphasis on floral and earthy hops is not what I tend to go for, but there’s some grapefruit and pine resin in there. It’s well balanced with moderate east coast sweetness. Bitterness is moderate and appropriate for the style, but with some lemon that I don’t particularly like. Middle of the pack beer, but made interesting because of the Deconstructed box, which I’d happily buy every year as a hops refresher course.
