3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear, red-amber with an off-white, 1/2 inch head that subsides into lace. The aroma is restrained but floral and with a touch of sweetness. Latitude 48 (a cool concept, too, I have to admit) is a medium-bodied brew of moderate bitterness (that manifests to my palate as grapefruit) and with a balancing touch of caramel. As it warms (my beginning temperature was 45 degrees F) one can perceive the fresh yeast. The finish is pleasingly but not overwhelmingly bitter. The liquor is floral and with a reserved character, more like a British IPA than an American IPA or an APA.
I agree with the overall rating for the beer, but find it humorous that it receives only a 50 in style points (probably because some think an IPA must knock you into tomorrow with hop bitterness). It need not, and the hops used in this beverage is subtle and floral. A well-priced beer that might strike those expecting a hop wallop to be a pale ale. Well-made beer however you slice it.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
355 ml bottle@home in tulip glass@approx 6 degrees C.Pours deep amber with a sufficient. Aroma of hops and bread. Surprisingly fullbodied, round taste - a bit like a mix between a dark Belgian, an APA and a British IPA. Plenty of hops but also caramel, christmas cake, bread and malt with a slightly bitter hoppy aftertaste. It is not at all bad and is well balanced in it’s own style. A beer to be enjoyed slowly on a cold day.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
355ml bottle. Clear though diffractive amber colour with average, thick, fluffy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Cautious aroma in gerneral, caramel and almond malty basis with fruity hoppy overtones, hints of orange, orange biscuit. Taste is initially dry hoppy, some pine and lemon, more influence from the caramel malty basis in the middle part, the finish is again dry - if not bone dry; soft palate, superb fine pored, smooth, thereby lively carbonation. Clean, sober, rather monotonous and quite boring in taste, with almost perfect outward appearance on the other hand.

Bottle: Amber to copper color, brownish head. Aroma is malty, caramelic with pine and herbal notes. Flavor is also malty, light sugary/caramelic, pine, notes of resin, herbs. More the rough way to make an IPA but quite OK.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Clear, amber pour with a small white head. Aroma has a fruity blend of malts and slightly old hops, like old orange and rotten carrot, but also peach and mango. Slightly earthy. Taste is more pleasant with a certain malt sweetness, but also lots of fresh, hoppy bitterness. Medium oily body and a light carbonation.
