COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Innocent yet beguiling, this hazy golden brew appears to be a classic wittier with its bright notes of orange citrus & coriander, but there’s a bit more mischief up its sleeve. Behind its sweet exterior lies an intriguing blend of white sage and rye for an earthly, spicy, and thoroughly refreshing brew.

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with medium frothy white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is orange peel, sage and rye. Medium mouthfeel with light rye flavor and citrus with light spicy finish. Decent.

pours hazy orange, with little head. the aroma is rye, farm yeast, citrus, pepper, and really earthy. the flavor is citrus up front followed by peppery, finished with coriander. taste like some spruce is in there as well. overall this really doesn’t fit my tastes..

Intense herby aroma bringing thyme and rosemary to the nose. Moderate gold with no foam. Flavor follows nose. Thyme and herbs dominate on the palate. Undertones of honey, caramelized sugar and caramel. Overall, this is not bad. Very herby and nice balance. I’d give this a B rating.

Hazy yellow pour with a white head. Aroma is coriander and rye. Taste is very pleasant. Crisp, flavorful and refreshing. The coriander and rye give it a spicy bite and the wheat keeps it in check. You get a hint of sage in the aftertaste.

I was surprised by what was available in their Spring Variety Pack. Little White Rye was included in the Summer Variety Pack, though it is hardly a summer beer and has an offensive flavor. Sam Adams often offers a pleasant surprise but every now and then they brew something that should never have been. If you want a Rye, try Founder’s Red’s Rye.

This is quite am interesting selection. Pours a hazy yellow with a light white top. Aroma is very complex with notes of wheat, grass, earth, but a with a sweet edge. Fresh leaves come through as well. Taste is some cloves with a little banana that doesn’t quite live up to the aroma. More of a wheat beer that one should definitely smell before tasting.

This should probably be listed as a witbier - hazy gold - fairly thick lace - quite a bit of sage in the nose - some sweet orange notes underneath - the rye is mild, but adds an interesting dimension that works surprisingly well with the sage - medium body - soft carbonation in the mouth - lightly spicy up front (pepper, herbs), followed by a light citric tartness - rye arrives late, along with mild sage - like in the nose, they play off of each other much better than I was expecting - spicy finish - pretty good.

Hazy golden with a massive bright-white head that leaves fabulous lacing. Rather spicy rye aroma with orange peel, light pine, hibiscus flower and vanilla cookies. Light-to-moderately bitter flavor up front turns moderately sweet and flowery. Finish has some chamomile tea notes atop lemon peel, lavender and light white pepper. Lightly carbonated, mouthfeel is a bit watery. Interesting.
