Innocent yet beguiling, this hazy golden brew appears to be a classic wittier with its bright notes of orange citrus & coriander, but there’s a bit more mischief up its sleeve. Behind its sweet exterior lies an intriguing blend of white sage and rye for an earthly, spicy, and thoroughly refreshing brew.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a yellow-golden color with a medium sized foamy off white head. The aroma was sweetish and dusty with notes of coriander, citrus and white pepper. The flavor was tart and tangy lemon, orange, must, bread and white pepper. Medium length must and bready lemon and white pepper finish. Medium body. Decent.

Sampler pack in Springfield. The spiciness and dryness of the rye worked with the coriander and orange and the wit yeast. Serving: bottle ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottle from Summer variety pack. Ar: Big sage aroma up front, pretty strong coriander as well. Touch of citrus, a bit of spice overkill for me. Ap: Pours a hazy straw with a head that dissipates quickly. T: Sage is way overpowering and dominates everything along with the grassy/earthy coriander flavor. There’s maybe some citrus in here somewhere but the spiciness just takes over. P: Medium body, assertive carbonation. O: Weak sauce.

Pours clear light gold with a lasting white head. Light lemon aroma. Light fruity flavor, no hops or other surprises. Good but not great.

Woof. You like coriander? This is the beer for you. The nose and flavor is just so dominated by spicy coriander that is just barely palatable. Sure its "ok" and I do like coriander but it is way overdone in this beer. The rye is not especially noticeable, it has the typical zesty wheaty witbier flavor, and touches of citrus but not a lot.

Pours golden with a thin layer of white bubbles. Aroma is spicy sage and coriander. Flavor is sweet with lots of sage and coriander. Lingering spice in the finish.

Bottle, my third from this summer beer case ... none of which have floated my boat. But this one is at least quaffable. Light golden, active, but with absolutely no head. The coriander dominates the aroma in a big way. But this drinks like a light, made-for-the-masses Witbier knockoff, as easy for a Shocktop drinker to drink as that ... Wouldn’t seek it out, but better than the other two I tried tonight. (#5060, 6/18/2013)

Color- gold Foamy white head with slight lacing Huge spicy nose (sage for sure) Flavor- spicy and a bit earthy, maybe spruce? Interesting take on the style

Pours a hazy gold showing a small unfiltered affect with a small head leaving light lacing. Aromas of clove, wet earth, coriander, and sage. The sage and coriander really come out in this brew. Finishes with an herbal sweetness. One of the best Sam Adam’s I’ve had in a while.
