COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Created by Created by Russ Brunner, FL.

Russ has been brewing for three years but this was his first venture into creating a recipe from scratch. The result of his hard work is a big malty stout with notes of chocolate and coffee that carry through to a velvety finish with hints of roasted cocoa. The richness is balanced by subtle citrus and pine notes from the American hops that add a touch of bitterness to this deep and satisfying brew.

Expectation: should be good
Motivation: picked this up based on the ratings
Hardware: 12oz bottle (best by Sept 2014) into La Tulipe
Nose: metal and coffee, uh oh
Sip: much better but there is something not right here. Roasted if not burnt coffee notes. Some chocolate. I think the water used in making this was bad. It drinks like a Genesee with lots of flavor.
Taste: strong bitterness of the dark chocolate variety
Misc: I donít think this aged right
Conclusion: should try it again, but probably wonít.

Malty coffee aroma with a dark coffee color. Solid coffee and chocolate flavor with a clean finish. Light tasting compared to the ABV.

~Clean sweet roasted malt aroma of milk chocolate and dark chocolate, light coffee, caramel, kind of like a Rolo candy. ~Pours black with long lasting creamy brown head. ~More roasty in flavor than aroma, strong espresso burnt flavor as well as dark chocolate. ~Medium full bodied with medium low CO2, lingering roasty finish. ~A bit too roasty in my opinion. Still enjoyable though

The aroma is sweet and toasted with coffee and chocolate. The appearance is almost back with a tan head. The taste is like th aroma but bitter. The palate is smooth. Overall a straightforward stout.

I would call this a foreign stoit. Black of course with a lacing head. Well toasted and sweet malt, sugar, some raisin. It is sweet but not in a lacto stout sort of way. Thick palate, reminds me of Lion. Lightly hopped, but they take a back seat to the heavy malt flavors.

Black body with tan foam. Nice chocolate, roasty, coffee aromas. Smooth medium mouthfeel. Dark chocolate, roasty, coffee flavors with some pine, citrusy hoppage___pretty damn good actually.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours black with a half finger of white head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate, dark fruits and a little caramel. Taste is medium bitter, follows aroma. Coffee and dark chocolate dominate. Full bodied with a thick and creamy texture. Soft carbonation and a long finish. Pretty good.
