COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Created by Ken Smith, Colorado. Ken describes his brew as having "a refreshing light taste and cereal crispness from the wheat malt." This unfiltered ale has a rich, fresh fruitiness balanced by a citrus note from the Noble hops.

bottle. Drank this one when it first came out, so I am going off memory. Smelled fruity with a small hint of hops and malt. Tasted very good and fruity, a little overpowering, but I tried it along side a rotisserie chicken. Totally changed everything. Much better when paired with a good bird. The fruit dominance is tamed slightly light flavors of the chicken. Pretty good beer.

Pours a light hazy yellow color with an off white head. Aroma was of sweet boysenberries, almost too sweet. Flavor was just too sweet and artificial. Way too overbearing, much like the cherry wheat.

Decent look with a medium head. Wonderful smell of boysenberries is present but not overpowering, but the boysenberries flavor is a little artificial and overpowering in the taste.

Probably my favorite of the longshot series so far. The name summed up the experience nicely. Hazy straw color with fair off-white head. Never had a boysenberry before, but the flavor was quite enjoyable.

12 oz bottle Poured cloudy golden with a nice aroma of fruit. Flavor is of a nice American style wheat with Boysenberry. Very Easy to drink. Too bad this isn’t going to become a regular.

This is a great fruit beer. Really well balanced with a super boysenberry flavor. Nice cloudy pour with a small cream colored head. Very smooth and easy to drink. I was lucky to score a pack of the longshot winners in Augusta at a Publix while I was at the Masters.

12 oz bottle from Odeed; nose of boysenberries and light bread; hazy gold with a small offwhite head; flavor of grain and light boysenberries; not overpowering fruit as in a lot of fruit beers! Nice light fruit beer.

I love the sam adams long shot. This beer had great potential when i opened and poured it. Not being a big fruit beer fan, I thought the flavor was overbearing. Smooth to drink and a easy finish.

One of the best, if not the best, fruit flavored beers I’ve ever had. A natural berry taste perfectly balanced.

Found a six pack of the Samuel Adams 2006 AHC at Warehouse Liquors in Duluth, Minnesota. Pours a semi-hazy golden yellow brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and ring. Aroma of light multi-grain malt with boysenberry syrup that reminds me of the kind they have at the local IHOP. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of light multi-grain malt, some grassy hops and plenty of semi-tart boysenberry flavors. Finish is semi-sweet with an aftertaste that is quite balanced with tart berry and light grain malt flavors. One year aging still retained some of its flavor and character.
