COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Created by Ken Smith, Colorado. Ken describes his brew as having "a refreshing light taste and cereal crispness from the wheat malt." This unfiltered ale has a rich, fresh fruitiness balanced by a citrus note from the Noble hops.

Bottle courtesy of ford9719. Thanks!
Pours a rich golden orange color with a nice white lasting head in a weizen glass. Smell is very strong boysenberry, and quite sweet like candy or jam. Nice at first, then even the nose becomes overly sweet. Taste is thinner and milder than the smell. Still some dull boysenberry flavor, and sweetness, but fairly bland with some wheat coming through as well. Average body and carbonation, but could use some more umpf. Decent, but got too be too much by the end of the bottle.

Feb. 2007 - I only bought this because I had to to get the other "Long Shot" beers. What a surprise! I normally hate fruity beers, but this was almost perfect. Pour was hazy golden yellow, smallish head, but well sustained and excellent lacing. Aroma was strong boysenberry. Flavor was boysenberry, but not that sweet with mild wheat base and a crisp lagerish bitter finish. Very good...one if not my favorite fruit beer. Excellent!

Cloudy orange with white head and lacing. Smells very sweet and similar to bosenberry puree or like a bosenberry pie. The smell is overwhelmingly sweet by the end of the beer and not very pleasant. Decent sweet flavor - but also becomes a bit too much by the end. Palate is pretty average - nothing too special here. I am just not a fan of fruity beers.

12 oz. bottle. Not a big fan of wheat beers, as a whole, but exploring to expand my palate. Intense sweet aroma of berries and slight hint of biscuit. Pours slightly hazy yellow with less than one finger of thin white crown - low retention and little lacing. Flavour initially hits with sweet and tart berries with a strong wheat malt backbone and finishes with a crisp wheaty aftertaste. Spritely carbonated and refreshing to drink, if weizens are your thing. I think I would enjoy it more if I were attuned to wheat beers. Overall a decent beer and my first experience with boyzenberry in a beer, but nothing that I’d order at a restaurant.

Tart berries on the nose, blackberry, strawberry, boysenberry, candied apple. Pours blonde with a thin white head. Boysenberry, candy, pixie stix, cough syrup, not very good.

12 oz bottle. Poured a hazy yellow orange color. Head was thin and white. Attractive aroma of fresh berries, peaches, and pancakes. Dry with tart berry and malty cereal grain. Kind of medicinal at the end, but decent overall. I didn’t notice any noble hops.

Has an aroma of vanilla and raspberry. This is by far my favorite of the longshots this year. So tasty and flavorful, this beer makes me happy to be an american.

Consumed 12-13-07. Golden, white head. Nice boysenberry/bluebeery aroma up front, slight bready character in the background. Flavor much the same. Hard to imagine them using real berries, but doesn’t really taste extract-like. Crisp and refreshing. Sessionable crossover, P.D. of a beer. Really not as bad as average suggests.

From my tasting notes. 12 oz bottle. Cloudy orange with a white head. Very fruity aroma, I’m not sure what boysenberries smell like, but it was a berry aroma. Flavor is sweet berries and malt. Not bad. Good summer brew.

Copying from my tasting notes. Bottle. CLoudy orange pour with a small white head. Lots of fruit in the aroma. Strong berry flavor and malt. Too sweet for me.
