Commercial Description:
Created by Samuel Adams Employee Carissa Sweigart. Brewed with ingredients signature to Carissa’s home of Massachusetts this Cranberry Wit is spiced with a blend of cinnamon, orange peel, coriander and grains of paradise, and finished with a touch of cranberry. This bright, fruity and refreshing brew is reminiscent of an autumn day in New England.

Bottle. Hazy gold body with a reddish cast. White, diminishing head. Aroma of wheat grain with a hint of bread, lemon, orange and cranberry. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. The predominant taste is a sweet, bready yeast with a touch of cranberry. Light to medium body with a watery texture and lively carbonation. I appreciated the fact the cranberry was not overdone.

Color is a golden orange with a slight haze. Carbonation is good with a small white head. Aroma is a sweet grain scent. Taste is light and sweet. Starting with a light body it goes down a bit fizzy. Finish is sweet with a touch of a berry taste, a little coriander and cinnamon. After taste has a faint bitterness and a little citrus (orange) showing. Overall its ok, easy drinking and light making it a good brew for a nice summer day but its nothing special.

Bottle. I liked this beer a lot more than I was expecting. Hazy orangish pour with mostly yeast on the nose, only a hint of fruit. The fruit is apparent in the mouth, but really plays more of a supporting role to the yeast, grains, and other flavor notes. This is a nice refreshing brew.

(12oz bottle) Cloudy amber body with pink tint, large white head. Aroma is medium sweet, cranberry, some lemon, wheat. Taste is medium sweet, cranberry, some lemon, wheat. Light-medium body, some creaminess, light acidity. Nice for what it is.

12 oz. bottle. Poured into a Sam Adams glass. Pours nicely; cloudy brown-yellow beer, pillow of off-white foam. Smells like, well, their cranberry lambic, with slight cranberry notes, barely detectable wit spiciness. Taste is about as good as most mass brewed wits I’ve had. Definitely some spices. Cranberry is, as described, "a touch." May have been part of the ferment, there is a dry finish here. Mouthfeel is a bit heavy. Still, I’m grateful for any fruit beer that doesn’t taste like flavored syrup was poured in, and this one makes that grade.

Hazy golden pour with a meringue-like white head, this is a nice looking pour; however, although it looks pretty nice, the flavor underwhelmed me. It didn’t taste bad, it just was a bit subdued. The spices were just a touch in the background for me. the cranberry was barely present. I would have thought that S.A. could have found a better home brew than this.

my 1,000th rating, and it’s a fruit beer!! hazy reddish/gold, small off white, quickly disappearing head, nice lace. airy nose of bread, with a tart fruity undertone. flavor is mostly yeasty breadiness, with a tartness that suggests fruitiness, but not quite fruit. medium body, kinda spritzy mouth feel, tart finish. surprisingly (and pleasantly) unfruity. still, not a very enjoyable brew. 3 variety 6 pack purchased at liquor depot in monee.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange copper body with a white head. Cinnamon, incense, light fruity esters bread y maybe a hint of cranberry. Not bad but this just isn’t on par with the other two, imagine this was a fail on such a large scale or it was intentionally included to help appeal to a larger group of consumers. who knows.
