COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Richard Roperís brew combines his love of hops with his affinity for spicy Belgian ales. The toasty caramel sweetness from the malt and Belgian candi sugar are balanced by distinct citrus hop notes, spicy yeast fermentation and hunts of orange and coriander.

Clear orange-copper color with thin white head. Light hoppy and yeasty aroma with some coriander. Creamy texture with honey and orange peel. Noticeable but ligh malt character for a Belgian Ale

Bottle with Carla. Pours a hazy gold/amber with off-white foam. Smells sweet of belgian yeast, alcohol and lemongrass. Tastes nicely bitter with a sweet backing of candi sugar, lemon, wheat, caramel, and maybe some coriander.

Originally reviewed: 5/2/11. Second of the lot that Iím trying. Poured into a chalice. Pours a dark cloudy orange with a thin white head on top. The nose is spicy, full of yeast, with a cut of orange zest on the finish. Not as floral or citrusy as Iíd like. The mouth is decent. Alcohol level makes this one a bit heavier; carbonation level is bordering high. Typical for the style. The flavors are quite underwhelming. The melding of these two styles is bland at best. Neither aspect comes forward with much force. Plenty of yeast character, but not a lot of spiciness to back it up. And the "IPA-ness" of this beer is weak as well. Bitterness is low-to-absent, citrus/floral flavors are muted. I expected something to standout in this beer. Itís not well-balanced, but neither do either of the two main characteristics standout. I wanted to like it, but I really donít care for it much.

Bottle @ Timbers, Denver. Thanks to Aaron for this one. Pours golden with a offwhite head. Aroma of melt, belgian yeast, apples, light hoppy. Taste is sweet malty, belgian yeast, caramel, toast, spicy, citrusly hops. Medium body, lively carbonation, hints of alcohol. 070312

12 oz bottle: Pours a dark orange with a tan head, decent CO2 and lacing. Aroma is a tad strong alcohol with sour yeast, slight citurs and spice. Taste is a bit astringent and strong alcohol but is complex. This beer might be better aged a little longer. Palate is interrupted by the alcohol burn and astringent aftertaste. Overall a decent offering but not my style.

Bottle. Pours orange amber with an off-white head. Aroma was fruity and yeasty with candi sugar, bananas and caramel. Flavor was lightly sweet with caramel, citrus, candi sugar, yeast, bananas and some subtle honey with a nice bitterness.

Pours a amber/gold color with foamy head. Sweet malts, spices, citrus, and yeast define the aroma and taste of this fine beer. It seems to have a character all its own and doesnít fit into any specific style. Very enjoyable!

Pours a copper color with a very nice, creamy , off-white head with great staying power. Aroma is very faint with light notes of coriander, lemon and some spicy hops kick. Flavor starts off with a strong coriander kick. Lemon citrus notes come in the middle with a late spicy yeasty kick toward the end. The finish has a slight hop leaf bitterness kick to finish it off. Body is modest, light crispness to it, very fine carbonation and a light alcohol kick at the very end. Overall a pretty good brew. I think itís one that follows the typical Belgian trend in that it gets better as it warms.
