3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 vyvvy (3268) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - MAR 25, 2011
Pours bright clear golden with a large white head. The lavender really jumps out on the aroma and is very floral and a bit powdery. There is smooth American wheat ale maltiness and a touch of sweetness. Light smooth slick body with really gentle carbonation. The flavor is still very heavy on the lavender, a bit of spicy hops, smooth orange flavor, clean wheat and a bit of sweetness that is probably from the honey. The finish has more spiciness to it and a small mineral taste. Quite enjoyable.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Hangover (980) - Atlanta, Alabama, USA - MAR 25, 2011
Clear golden pour with a huge frothy head. I can smell the lavender along with some honey and light bisquit. Mouthfeel is slightly carbonated, medium bodied with a pretty high level of sweetness. Honey and lavender are in the easy flavors to pick out, maybe a bit of grassy/herbal. Finish is crisp but short. Different.

Full sample served from 12 oz. bottles during the Longshot VIP Tasting at the Chicago Marriott. Displayed a clear, light golden color with decent, white, moussy head foam and wavy lacing. The aroma was pleasantly floral & herbal, with light honey & fruit sweetness. Ditto on the flavor, with a little citrusy tang, light body, and soft carbonation. Lightly dry at the finish, a little thin, but tasty.

Bottle. Pours clear gold with white foamy head. Aroma is very interesting, herbal, floral, spicy. Flavor is unique, light fruit notes blended in with a strong herbal presence, very subtle honey sweetness. Mouthfeel is light body with high carbonation. Overall, interesting brew.

Aroma has a definite lavender overtone to it that is quite pleasing, sweet honey backing with some hop texture poking their way through the others. Appearance is a clear golden with the thick frothy white head that lingers. Taste is interesting a bit astringent, the lavender comes through on the taste as well, sweet, lightly hoppy, and definite floral overtones. Palate is medium to low carbonation in the mouth, aftertaste is rather clean and just a little dry. Overall, Smells wonderful but I’m just not digging the taste and mouth feel. Decent.. Cheers!

12 oz. bottle from Capone’s. Pours clear canary with frothy white head that laces well. Nose is lavendar, citrus, honey, heavy black peppery florals. Tastes sweet, bready pale malty, with notes of honey, lavendar florals, spicy peppery, and hops. Very good recipe here, and technically sound, and I love the experimental factor.
