COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zack Adams’s Magnificent Seven IPA is described as “a showcase of seven American hop varieties that impart a big piney and lingering resinous flavor. A true Imperial American IPA, this brew pours a rich bronze color. The slightly sweet malt character is pleasantly balanced by a pronounced hop bitterness with grapefruit, pine and earthy notes from the American hops. This medium-bodied IPA also delivers caramel, citrus, lemon and piney aromas.

Off white head pulls about an inch of quality time... great lacing for the entire glass... the brew is surprisingly dark... deep clear amber. Nose is pithy grapefruit with some resinous piney hops... malts are there, dark caramel shows with warmth... smells very fresh.... no bad qualities right now. On the palate, much more hop flavor shows than the expected bitterness.... plenty of pine and grapefruit, but the hops still come out swinging as dark caramel and dry toast and IMO mute the hop flavors. Body is medium and the carbonation is light and sorta clingy leading to a sorta creamy mouthfeel for such a heavy hopped brew.... I dig it. Overall, pretty well done fresh, but I suspect those darker malt qualities will be a hop hammer sooner than later... Drink this one as soon as possible.

"Really impressed with this one, especially at this low price point. Dark and dank, citrusy and spicy. Very complex aroma and flavor. Malty, but more than adequately hoppy and aromatic, with a pretty nice sticky body. Looking forward to a couple more of these."

It poured a clear dark amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was moderately sweet, mango, orange and some grapefruit. The taste was moderately sweet, pine, grapefruit and some bread. It had a medium body, with light resin.

Bottle best by Sep 2013 - Dark rich amber orange, clear, with nice tan-ish head, settling slowly with nice lace. Immediate pine, grapefruit aroma faded quickly, some caramel and leathery funk. Some big bitterness up front in the flavor, definite caramel and semi-dry with slight metallic twang in the finish. It’s yummy, my description and rating reflects that I found this single out of date by a couple months.

12oz bottle (courtesy of Headbanger) poured into a Shaker at 40°. Color is a bright golden brown with mellow carbonation and a nice rocky off white head. Aroma is sweet malt then spice floral hops on the back. It has a medium body with a creamy and slightly rich mouth feel. Flavor comes in malty giving nice toffee notes then the hops show with just a touch of pine and a spicy, peppery citrus. In the after taste the pepper hangs on with a mild bitterness. Overall its a very good IPA, but I feel it should be a little bigger as an Imperial.

Copper with a large pillowy slowly evaporating taupe vertex. Aroma is tropical and vinous with floral hops, grapefruit and caramel. Taste of deep toffee, roasted malt, caramel, tropical fruit, grapefruit and a moderate bitter finish. Nice red IPA.
