Commercial Description:
Created by Don Oliver, California. Don says that the blend of distinctive malts in his brew "offers a rich and malty taste that doesn’t overpower. It’s a full-bodied, heavy ale good for a winter night by the fire."

Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverages - 12 oz bottle - part of a mixer 6 pack. Murky dark orange pour with a sticky off-white head that leaves thick lacing on the glass. Prunes, plums, raisins, chocolate - all there in the aroma. Coincidentally same flavors found in the taste! Nice and fruity and malty like a bourbon-soaked fruit salad with nuts. Some pipe tobacco notes as well with a smoky aftertaste. Thick, chewy mouthfeel. Hats off to Don Oliver - whoever he is - this is a stellar brew!

Dark brown beer with a light ruby tint. Teh head is tight and long lasting. Very sweet malty aroma with loads of dark dried fruits, plums, prunes, and cherries all make an appearance in here. Dark toasty malts, light chocolate and a dank dusty earthy malt character that is also quite nice. Brown sugar, light molasses and a hint of black licorice all contribute to the chewy sweetness of this brew. Light leather flavour. As it warms you also get more flavours like chocolate covered raisins. While the malts are a bit too sweet, this beer has lovely complexity. I’d like to see it bottle-conditioned with a bit of age on it, but I doubt that it will hold up in this format. It’s still a damn tasty beer, and the best of the LongShots by far.

Dark ruby body, fizzy light tan head. Sweet syrupy cherry molasses aroma. Very thick aroma. Some dry dusty grains too. Cherry sweet malt taste too. Some brown ale malt stylings in there too. Alcohol is peaking through to. Moderately interesting, but not my cup of tea.

Pours a deep copper-brown, with a massive tan head that settles to a creamy inch plus. Rich malt aroma, with raisins and molasses dominating. No hint of the alcohol. Thick and sweet, with most of the aroma carrying over into the flavors. Alcohol shows only when letting the beer warm in the mouth. Finish is the only disappointing part of this beer, as it lingers a bit too long.

Bottle. Enjoy before: 06/07. Pours a clear mahogany with a thick khaki head. Vanilla beans, raisins, some anise and caramel in the malty aroma. Medium to full-bodied and smooth. Starts with some smooth caramel and chocolatey flavors and finishes with just the slightest touch of warming alcohol and raisins. Roasty and subtle oaky notes are present throughout.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of BockyHorsey - Pours a clear deep mahogany color with a one finger thick light tan head. Light lacing. Aroma is lightly sweeted fruit. Flavor is full of sweet esters and caramel malt. Medium to full body. Has a lingering raisin after taste. Alcohol is slightly noticeable. A good beer. SA should thick about putting this beer into production. The best of the 3 Longshot beers by far. Thanks Bill.
